Sigmoid colonoscopy after surgery.........

So I celebrated this morning with a LARGE McDonalds coffee and a sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle....Life is Good again.....I'm heading to Mickey Mouse in Orlando Saturday and I can't wait...I will return Thursday night but I will be back on Friday morning.....
For those whom are having colonoscopys done with an ostomy. I simply left the bag and everything attached and did my regular work day and removed bag and placed another on when full. I did this all evening yesterday and then last night I went to sleep and it was partially full this morning. I replaced it with a new bag and went for the colonoscopy. I left my entire bag and attachment on and all they did was remove the bag, they did the scope with the seal ring on and then re attached the bag when done. Simple as pie...and the prep was easy. No raw butt, nothing. Thank you all for the thoughts and well wishes, they worked like a charm. Guys and Gals......life is so good and getting better everyday for me....I certainly wish that for each of us here and others that are just now getting the DX. I sure do understand how the great people in here save a lot of lives simply by being there for someone to talk to and having the knowledge to make others feel good about their prognosis'....Keep up the great work Guys and Gals....I love you all.....

oh wow- that is wunderbar.
oh wow- that is wunderbar.
Quick question on your ostomy bag comment. Have you ever tried the bags that just attach to the skin, no o-ring? I had the o-ring for about 6 weeks and then the stoma nurse changed me to the one that the entire thing seals on the skin- bags were smaller, I got a better seal and all around just seemed to work better.0 -

WOW!! I am so happy to heae everything went well, no colonscopy for 2 years??? wow! I'd definitely be celebrating as well! I love those McGriddles,! You deserve it all! Have fun in Orlando! I have never been to Disneyworld, sounds and looks like a beautiful place! One of these days I will be able to show my kids what a beach even looks like! I hope I get to be where you are one of these days.
Thanks for the ostomy tips, I wouldn't have known what to do with the all that changing, but will make sure I do what you do when they want another colonoscopy from me.
Glad to hear everything well with you handsome!

Glad your results were so good...when I had my post-op colonoscopy they found more polyps, but they were benign. They also found severe damage from the radiation, and now I am dealing with colitis as a result - but when I consider the alternative, I am blessed.
Many hugs, Vicki0 -
