Remission Scanning - How often?

I am wondering how often scanning is being recommended by your oncologists once you have completed treatment. I find some women have every three months, every six months, yearly and some none at all. I am not sure if there is not a recommended protocol or if insurance is dictating how often this followed once treatment is complete. I'd appreciate any input.

    On-going Screening
I finished treatment in January 2009. 3 months later I had a CT scan of the pelvis and abdomen. I will not have any more scans unless there are symptoms, etc. (any pain that does not go away in two weeks, nausea, vomiting, cough). I have a pelvic and pap smear every 3 months for 2-3 years and then every 6 months for 2 years, then annually.I will have an annual chest x-ray.

    That's the plan for now!!

I finished treatment at the end of March and had a CT scan in April. I am due another one in October. My doctor said I'll be having one every six months and that at two years "I'll leave you alone" (referring to CT scans).

I finished treatmetn in Feb. 09. I'm on the same basic plan as Karen - I will have paps and office visits every 4 months, CA125 every 2 months, no regular scans due to high radiation concern. I'm supposed to monitor myself for any changes. So far so good.

same for me....CT scan after treatment finished; CA 125 and vaginal cuff pap every three months for 4 years, then every six months for 2 years then yearly for the rest of my life; no routine CT scan; if CA 125 jumps more than 5 points, onc will go looking for cancer and will do CT scan; report any bloating or abdominal pain that doesn't resolve; keep a watchful eye on any changes in the body I can't explain as related to aging (61 yrs old)

So far so good....coming up to one WHOLE year of NED in Dec
