Hello all this is my first post on this board and I hope to come back to it. Yesterday was the 2nd year of the passing of my mum from breast cancer. She had hidden her illness from us, but if you believe in God or not, he managed to get her treatment. She was only expected to live a few weeks, but as stubborn as she was she lasted from Jan 07 to August 28th 07, and managed to see me get married on the 18/8/07. Not a day goes by when I don't think of her, and her passing, I was there when she took her final breaths that never leaves you, but in some way it's a comfort that you get to spend your last moments with your mum your best friend. She suffered a stroke while she had cancer, lost her right side movement couldn't talk. I still dream of her constantly, like she is still near me. You never get over losing your loved one but you do get through it, it takes time.
Wish she was around now though as I#, going through cancer treatment for colon cancer, suffering from depression , panic and anxiety disorder. But I know she would want me to fight, even though she kept her illness hidden.
All I can say to those of you who have lost a recent loved one, is please, please make sure you look after yourselves it's vital. Grieve, shout, scream, cry, write your feelings down, seek comfort within family and friends, if you need to seek counselling there is no shame in it. Hugs I wish you all well, and hope the pain of your loss gets easier over time.

My deepest condolences
Sonia, I am so very sorry for your loss I lost my mom to cancer Aug 18, 2000. We never ever forget them but with time we do manage to think of them and smile recalling the good times and the love we had for each other. I too have had to fight cancer without my mom at my side and I miss her a lot during those times. Please if you have not yet done so post on the colorectal cancer board her at CSN. I am sure you will find a lot of support there. My best to you Sonia, I wish you well!
Hugs,
RE0
