Drop in PSA

it's been a while since i logged on, but though i was reading all the comments that gave me relief to the condition of my Dad.
My step-dad's intial PSA was 1089 when he was diagnosed in June 2009, at age of 49, then they did the biopsy that came out positive with 16 out of 22 cores, and gleason 4+4 ( other opinion was 4+3). He suffered a life threatening bleeding after the biopsy ( which is a very rare case) where the Dr injured him as he was performing it, where he stayed at ICU for 10 days till hopefully he came back to us......all this time he was abroad.... meantime I had all the tests and starting searching for Drs till the time we brought him here.
Same opinion everywhere, Stage IV prostate cancer with bone and liver involvement, not to mention the other small parts, pladder neck......and many issues that i lost count of.....
( bone scane, MRI, CT.... all performed and proved)
same opinion, Hormone depreviation therapy ( either Orchiectomy or Zoladex) + casodex and of course Zometa....
we did the PSA test before starting the first shot on 17th of July where his PSA dropped till 194... we , and the drs didnt know why..since he was not on any kind of medication then coz he refused any kind of treatment in the country where he was after the bleeding issue, so we watited till he came to our country to start treatment.....
He was put on Casodex on 17/7 same day of PSA test, of course after the test, and zometa and then Zoladex.
First shot of Zometa was awful..... fever, chills , pain in every body part... for about 12 hrs.....
Most pain in lower back and right thigh are much less, thank god, still minor back pain ( coz the MRi showed a pathologic fracture) but still the pain is bearable, the dr didnt recommend radiation till now since his pain is controlled.
Next PSA was 12.93 on 24 Aug... it's not so low, but for us it is awsome.....
so a dramatic drop from 1089 till 194 without any medication
then till 12.93 in 4 weeks.....
as I said once in my previous posts, I'm praying that he responds to hormone therapy, counting on his excellent general health condition ( other than cancer of course) and on the diet he's on.
I pray for all of you....and I really get hope everytime i read a post.....
