chemo sweat

Now, more issues with this sweat and was hoping someone on the board could help with suggestions.
I have a horrible rash betwee breasts and under them. I have tried everything I could think of- dryig with a hairdryer, not wearing a bra for the last 2 days, medicated powder- and can't even get it dried out, it constantly feels moist and it hurts. Any ideas?

Hi Patti!
All i can tell you is after i started radiation, my body went immediately into menopause, and i started experiencing heat waves like nothing ever before. It literally feels like you're getting cooked from the inside out; sort of like being microwaved. These come and go, more often now that it's Summer, and if i exert myself, sometimes that will trigger one. They're awful, but at least they pass. Is this what you're experiencing?
I also get the rash under my breasts if i wear a bra. So most days, i don't wear one. I never go anywhere anyway! If i do, i do use the goldbond powder, and it helps if not for a brief while. It doesn't stay dry, but it adds a menthelatum coolness that soothes the rash. Pam's diaper ointment idea is excellent too! I use that on my bum, and it's great! I'm sure it will work for the under-breast rash too.
Good luck with it!

I think its called nystatin.....kids use it on their bottoms when they get red and its an overnight success....... -
No, but
Patteee, I have small breasts so no sweating under them. I do get a rash across my upper chest but Gold Bond Powder, applied 1,000 times a day, fixes it up in a couple of days.
My sil is a big breasted woman and she has this problem. She actually forms sores if she doesn't get control of the rash. I believe she said she uses the oily style Desitin (not that new creamy version because it comes right off) at night. I use Desitin for anything. Have since my kids were infants and they're probably YOUR age.)
I also sweat now and never did before. In fact, I just showered for Sunday School and church and sat down for my first cup of coffee. It's 59° outside, our windows wide open, and I'm sweating like I'm over an oven.
I don't know your age, but chemo forces you into an early menopause. I was already IN menopause so knew what to expect. Night sweats, intolerance of heat, etc....
Maybe Kim has a suggestion. I remember she posted about a rash on her upper chest about a month or more ago.
Have a SUPER Wonderful Day!

Itchy Skin
Sounds like you are having similar problems that I have had....
I walk for exercise and garden and when I sweat, I am itching
and stinging all over.....went to a dermatologist for my annual
skin check and she prescribed some creams for me; she said the
chemo can cause skin irritation and dryness....if none of the
OTC suggestions work, visit the dermatologist....it also seems
the more time I am away from chemo treatments the better my
skin is getting.

I also experienced increased sweating, odor, and overall icky feeling on my skin. I showered evyr morning and for the whole time I was on chemo I used a body scrub with oil -no soap at all- and you can make your own with epsom salt, almond oil bsae with lavender oilfro scent-lots of recipes in the net. Made my skin feel soft even my feet where the soles felt very thin.
