I just wanted to update everyone on Jeff and his surgery, when I first started this site i was scared chitless, and to think my husband of only 3 years had CANCER, and esophogeal on top of that, we found out on him in April, and by May I was at my wits end, until I joined this site, and have met so many nice people, but my best friends are Kitten0385, and William "MASTER" Marshall (only bill knows why i call him master) ha ha bill, we did chemo in april, may and june, we had surgery on july 23, at 7:00 am that was a day from you know where, Jeff's surgery only took 6 hours, and he did great in surgery, it was afterwards when his lungs wouldn't cooperate, and his sinus got infected amongst other things, we have been home 3 weeks from having the surgery and he has done great, the 1st week was not good he couldn't bathe himself or dress himself, week 2 was better we were eating what we want when we want, and now we are on week 3 and doing great he can pretty much do what he wants except bend over, lift heavy stuff, and lay flat in a bed or propped up, as the acid reflux tends to come back up. He still cant drive so we try to go out daily.
For the ones considering this surgery I would personally say do it, its just a BIG BUMP in the road, but if you trust your doctors and have faith in GOD, you can do this. Of course any surgery has its options, but its totally up to you, we can advise but its what your family and you want to do.
Jeff is mending quite good, and am glad we did it, and we go to the oncologist wednesday so when I have more news I will post.
Have a safe weekend everyone and keep your chin up
