hi, all
I been reading the post from the past few days and it seems we all need a little light joy and for me that is Georgia peaches.

Every year i buy GA peaches everyweek for 6 weeks from the same grower in Bishop Ga, a roadside stand, ( the only place to buy peaches) It'S about 20 minutes from my house and today my love and i were thinking what should we do. We were broke and he was tired from dialysis, but we had to do something. So i told him I was out of peaches and we had to go buy some more. So we got in the truck and headed out, We joked about we were going to tell the bank when we did not make a payment, We had to have GA peaches, they'd understand.
I also wanted a sonics shake ( i thought i could handle cold today).
So were traveling down the bypass and up atlanta hwy, to sonics and we get there it is 1:40 and happy hour is not until 2pm so i say let get the peach first and well come back. The traffic is bad because the college students are back in Athens, Ga, but we manage to get to Bishop in less than 20 min for the peaches. When we get there the stand is being run by one of the grand daughters. You see this stand has been selling Peaches for more than 50 years.
We recoginez each other eventhough we have never formally meet, She says back for your weekly supply and i say yes these are keeping me alive. I get my 12 peaches for $10 and she tell me only a few weeks left, i guess i will have to freeze some after next week.

then we head back down the to the by pass and decided to go to Arby's instead, 5 for $5 is a cheap meal, and i can get a chocalate shake from there. But when we get there the shake machine is broken. So i say lets just head home.

But my love say how about a coffe coolata from dunkin donuts. And we can get the stainelss steel table that is thrown out by the dumpster if it is still there. Ok sounds good to me.

We drive all the way up prince ave and get DD and I go in and ask about the table and of course they say we can have it, and i order two coffe coolatas and their machine is broke too

so i order two shakes and guess what

I WAS WRONG I COULD NOT TAKE COLD YET.

LOL

HUGS
WINNEY

    Thank you!
That was so funny. I was sitting laughing and grinning to myself. Took my mind off everything for a minute. Its the little things in life, just going out for a ride, that give us such pleasurable memories.
    Bless you and yours, Trish

Adorable story! Someone was shaking their finger at you, Winney!! That throat neuropathy is something else, isn't it!? I still get that weird stinging feeling in my mouth from time to time.

I have a good friend in Saint Mary's. Is that anywhere near you?

I'm so glad you had a wonderful day with your honey!

    Here's to many, many more!!

    Hugs,

    peach shakes
when you get to the point that you can do cold, go get a peach shake from Chik filet. They are so good. i live in Hampton, Ga close to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. All the NASCAR fans will know where thats at. It was nice to read about simple everyday things. The small things in life are what keep us going.

    cold
There was one day after treatment I wanted an ice cream sandwich. My hubby brought me one. I was determined to eat it despite the fact that the cold was bothering me. My hubby started laughing, I guess I was making growling noises when I was eating it. I sounded like a bad cat. I usually eat an ice cream drumstick every nite. I'm making up for the times I wasn't able to have ice cream when I was receiving oxi.

    Now you've done it!
You went and made me hungry for my specialty. We're in Villa Rica, about 35 miles due west of Atlanta on I-20 and 24 miles to the Alabama line.

    Peaches and Cream Cobbler

1/4h cup unsifted self rising flour
1 pkg (small 3 1/8oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
    1/2 cup low fat milk
3 tablespoons of margarine or butter softened
    1 egg
1 can 16 oz peach slices. Drain and save juice.
    1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg low fat cream cheese (I use the Neuf. stuff)
    1 tbs sugar
    1/4 tsp cinnamon

Mix flour, pudding, milk, butter and egg. Beat about 2 mins. on med. speed. Pour into a 9" sq. baking pan. Top with peaches. Combine the 1/2 cup sugar, cream cheese and 3 tbs of peach juice. Pour over peaches. Top with the tbs sugar and cinnamon. You can cook this on a gas grill or in your oven. 350° for 35 mins. On the grill, be sure to rotate the dish at least once during cooking. Cobbler firms as it cools.

I've used fresh peaches and peach Juicy Juice. Works great.

This is sooooooo good and makes about 8 servings. YUMMY

    Ga Peaches
love Georgia and love peaches; am in Cincinnati so what I get
is trucked in and arrive hard and unable to eat and you have
to leave them out and covered with a cloth or in a brown paper
bag for a couple days before they are ripe to eat.....have enjoyed
going to the farm markets this summer.....so much rain we have
had good crops of corn, tomatoes and melons....picked up some
strawberries at Sams Club the other day and they were the
    geatest I've ever eaten....so sweet....praise to summer!!!

    Hi Diane,

I am sitting in work with my mouth watering at this recipe. Will be stopping on the way home for ingredients to make this. Thanks for the recipe!
