Hope your treatment goes well for you today and you have little or no side effects. Praying that the chemo is working to make you NED.

    Got the chemo
I was told to watch for nose bleeds and call if I can't control the bleeding and don't get constipated........hmm the only way to keep that from happening is not to eat!

    Glad the chemo was done........
They are wanting to get you done as much as your wanting it too...Your platelet count will be real low so the cause for watching bleeds is valid. Your clotting factors are kicked in the butt right now and the chance although slight to bleed profusely is there. There is a fine line at which they can or can't give you the chemo but being that close to being done and counts on the line they did you a favor by continuing with the treatment instead of prolonging it another week...Good for them....and you.....almost home hun.....

    Nana b - Yes 70,000 is low...
    Hi Nana b

I just wanted to talk to you about your platelet count.

The guideline is not to do chemo below 100,000 - internal bleeding can become an issue the lower the counts are.

But it looks like you are almost done with only one or 2 more, and your body has obviously responsed by keeping your platelet level up to do the chemo up until this treatment - congrats on that, that's huge.

It sounds like your counts will come back up and you'll be able to do your last couple of rounds - early congrats there as well!

It's possible they might do it if your counts get back in the mid to upper 90's. Anything below that, the doctors will not administer the chemo, nor should you accept it at that level.
