Susan Kowalski known here on the CSN as jerseysue was a very special lady, sadly she lost her battle to this disease last week. She will be sadly missed by all her friends here at the CSN.

Our thought and prayers are with her husband Mike and her children.

KOWALSKI, Susan E. of Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Kowalski passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Brian's House, age 45 years. Susan was born December 1, 1963. Susan served in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1990. She was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey where her family still resides. She was employed as a sales manager at AT&T. Susan married Michael Kowalski on September 23, 1995 at Canada's Wonderland Amusement Park where they spent many summer vacations with their children. Susan loved to travel. She was a very loving and kind-hearted woman whose smile and laughter brought joy to those around her. She had a wonderful zest for life. Sue wasn't the life of the party - she was the party. More than anything Sue loved her family. She was a wonderful and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Those who knew her loved her, and she will be greatly missed.
Susan is survived by her husband, Michael Kowalski, six children: Steven Meixner and his fiancée Heather Gear, Terra, Aaron, Ian, Alyssa and Ivy Kowalski; one grandson, Ayden Snyder; her parents, Anthony and Patricia Maglione; two brothers, Anthony (Claire) Maglione and Daniel Maglione; four sisters: Marianne (Scott) Hilliard, Sheila (Kenny) Chalk, Patricia Maglione and Stephanie (Scott) Calisti; five brothers-in-law: Richard (Susan) Kowalski, Stanley (Marlene) Kowalski, Raymond (Teryl) Kowalski, Virgil (Teena) Kowalski, Joseph (Ann) Kowalski; four sisters-in-law: Kathy (Arthur) Moultane, Marilyn Weiler, Geraldine (David) Gould and Dolores (Thomas) Meier; many nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends. Susan was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Richard and Betty Kowalski, Sr. and one nephew, William Weiler, Jr.
A Celebration of Susan's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with military honors following. Friends may call at the Gephart
Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Susan will be taken to the church to lie in state on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.

    Although I didn't know Susan (I guess I'm a more recent poster here), I wish to honor her memory and send blessings and prayers to her family.

    Very sad news...
    Thank you for posting, and letting us know, Lisa. Susan always had helpful posts, and a cheery disposition. I had no idea she was losing her battle. Damn effing cancer. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

    Thank you, Lisa, for the info. I had no idea. I have sort of dropped out lately.

    I am sad that Sue lost her battle, she was a strong, bright light in a dim world....sigh....
