I am starting the process of 2nd opinions. I am waiting for my Medical records.
I go To Loyola University Medical Center. Dr Shelly Lo is my onco.
I was blessed to get an appt with Dr. Al Bensen, at Northwestern, who was recommended to me as a colorectal cancer specialist.
Any others I should seek out?
I'm seeking 2nd opinions as to my treatment plan. I just want to make sure they aren't writing me off and are agressive and on board with me all the way. I told my onco last week, your goal is to make me NED, single and foremost, so do whatever you need to do.

Univ of Chicago
don't have a specific name but the University of Chicago Medical Center just
received top rankings by the magazine U.S. News and World Report
in their Top Hospitals in the U.S. survey. I live in Cincinnati
and was considering going there for a second opinion but that
was when things were not going well, now they seem to be going
ok. I would consider again if I thought I needed another opinion.
They have a nice website. Wish you well on your journey.

Chicago
Loyola is great, so I hear, but Univ. hospital is also very good. Check on line about the big hospital in the Chicago land area. What one of my doctors, (not an onc) told me that the big Cancer Center near Chicago wasn't as terrific as they make it sound, so think about that for what it is worth. I live 40 miles west of Chicago in Aurora, Il. So far my doctors here at home have been wonderful. Our (my husband and I) first thought after diagnosis was to head for Mayo's in Minnesota, but I have received such good, intensive and complete care here in Aurora, that we felt comfortable just staying here.
Good wishes,
Sandi
