Our 6 year old son was diagnosis with AML on July 17th. Last week we found out that his cytogenetics came back showing FLT3-ITD. Which means that he will need to have a bone marrow transplant in order not to relapse when he is in remission. We are at a hospital that is 90 miles from our home town, and our younger son is a perfect match for the bone marrow. How do you spend time with the younger son who is 3, when you need to be 90 miles away in the hospital? I also found out that my FMLA ends on 9/6/09, and the clinic that I work for will terminate me on the 7th if I don't show up for work. They will not give me a Leave of Absence. Any one have suggestions on how to cope with all of this and make sure that our younger son is not being ignored, and what do I need to do about my job
