Sorry.. But I Quit MRI Results
I received the results to my MRI, and there is good news.. the right side "unremarkable"... great wonderful... now read further..."evidence of residual multifocal disease" My Onco called right as I walked out from my initial consultation with my radiation oncologist... they are scheduling an ultra sound needle guided biopsy asap they are getting me in on the 1st available appointment. If they can't get it from the ultra sound then they'll do it via MRI needle guided..
I have requested something to calm my nerves this time.. they are perscribing Adavan... I really don't think I can keep going with this... I was supposed to get treatment plan... how can I have clean margins on June 9th, and now have "residual multifocal disease"??
I'm sorry, but for the first time, on top of everything else, I am asking "why me?"
Has anyone else had a lumpectomy and then an MRI that showed anything like this?

I had an ultrasound guided
I had an ultrasound guided needle biopsy just last month. I had a CT scan today to try and find out what the lump is in my abdomen. The contrast liquid was nasty(barium) but the CT tech was great. I actually worked with her when we were both CNA's at a Nursing home.
I hope it isn't anything too complicated for you.0 -

Oh, Taleena, I know that this is devastating to hear, especially after you thought it was all over. I'm so sorry this is happening. But, residual multifocal disease can be taken care of. It is a blow, I know. Take the Ativan and rest. Post when you want. It's our turn to be supportive of you. I know things are not looking good right now, but you will be treated for this and come out on the other side.

I know you're feeling pretty
I know you're feeling pretty down right now and that's OK. Thinking you have clear margins and then finding this out is more than just disappointing. I don't know how you can have clean margins and then find traces, perhaps your team can help you/us understand this. But like Mimi said........it's treatable and all this confusion and tests won't last forever even if it seems like it will. This is a hump and you'll get over it and we'll hold your hand through it. Try not to worry 'cause as I tell myself.......it won't change a thing except to give me an acidic stomach and a headache.
We're with you and send you all our good energy.

Sounds like good advice. Take your meds and try to rest.

Time to Support You
Taleena, I am so sorry to hear of the MRI results. Curveballs, roller coaster rides--call it what you want, but disappointing and unexpected news is hard to take.
But, as Mimi and others have said, the residual disease can be dealt with. And you can do it. It just takes a little time to adjust. Don't worry about not posting--when you're drained emotionally, you don't have anything to give. It's time then to let others support you. That's what we all are here for.
You hang in there, T.0 -

As everyone said it is
T,
As everyone said it is time for us to be supportive of you. Of course, this is not what you wanted to hear and it's hard to understand the clean margins and then this is there. Just take a deep breath and know that this too is treatable. Bumps in the road, curveballs, rollercoasters, are hard to deal with but you can do it. You really can. It's a not so Merry Go Round right now but the ride will end. Know we are here for you. My thoughts, good wishes and prayers are with you that things will start moving along for you and you can begin your treatments.

I'm not sure what to say
Taleena, you have been through so much already that I'm not sure what to say at this point. I feel really bad for you for what seems like one delay after another. Good thing that you got the ativan. It will help to calm you.
Also know that there is a percentage of false positives with the breast MRI. Probably why they are doing the biopsy asap....so they can recheck the findings and hopefully, finally get on with a treatment plan.
I would be pulling my hair out if I were you because I have become a big wuss anymore. Hang in there. We are still here to help get you through this! I promise, when I can think of something funny to say that will make you laugh...I will post again!! -) Pammy0 -
No apologies necessary, T...
Active participation on the board is always optional, for all of us, T. Everybody and anybody can/maybe should take a break, for whatever reason. So, please - no apologies.
Geez, yet another curveball for you. Your road has been very bumpy (an understatement). Take a deep breath - or several, and try to find whatever patience you've got. 'Cuz there's not a darned thing you can do, except wait - again. The Ativan should help.
Sorry for all the complications - while hopeful and confident that your onc team is simply being as thorough as possible.
Kind regards, Susan0
