Prelim path reaults from Mondays surgery
My surgeon called yesterday with prelim path results she was able to get all the DCIS with
Very small margins (1mm) so she is taking case to a team of Drs to get other opinions om whether or
Not to do another surgery. The good news
Is that they did say it was not invasive and no nodes were involved. So more waiting until Wed to find out if there will be another
Surgery or just rads and tamox
Hugs to all the angels on here

Tracey, this is very good
Tracey, this is very good news! And, I'm glad that your doctor is taking your case to a team to discuss. My path results have always been a bit ambiguous (could be this, or it could be that), and I've had them sent to Vanderbilt Medical at least three times after they've already been reviewed by several doctors here. It helps your doctor make the right decision for your case, even though it means another time of waiting. It is worth it in the long run.
Also glad to hear that you've had very little pain: I've never had a great deal of pain either, and I'm really grateful.

Im glad that your surgery went so good and that the results went well. I hate the waiting game too. Sometimes it feels like thats all we do. Good luck and ill pray for you.

Tracey,
I'm glad that you don't have pain-or much of it.
Your doctor is doing the right thing by asking other professionals regarding your case.
Good luck on Wednesday.

Good news indeed!
Tracey, glad all went well, you are in little pain, no positive nodes and it was DCIS!! Just remember, if they need to go back in and get more margins, it is for the best for you. You have cause to celebrate!! Hang in there with the wait and keep us posted. (:-) Pammy0 -
close marginsKylez said:Why would they do more
Why would they do more surgery Tracey?
Kylez
My surgeon said that a few spots had a margin of only 1mm and ideally they would like .5cm one spot she felt fine that she could go in and get a bit more normal tissue but the other was too close to the surface and may need to take the nipple area which doesnt thrill me but will be glad to be rid of the beast.0 -
