Update on Doctor appts

Ok I have not said much about my appts this week cause they were a little off kilter. First off I wont see the phyciatrist till Tuesday he had an family emergency, my phycologist (the talky doctor, who I still have not decidd if I like or not) assures me that my issues right now are justified, and that the added hormone deperation is making things seem worse then they rally are, I have to addmit that it is nice to have my feeling valedated, but would much rather not have to deal with them at all. Oh well, one day at a time, or one moment at a time, depending on the current hormone rage. 
My cat scan, well that was just down right alarming. I drank that barium stuff, and all I can say about that ie ewwwwwwwwwwwww, then kept myself busy in the craft room at the VA, they have all kinds of things for us to do. Ceramics, leather work, wood work, even some really cool model cars, and seeing as I am a big time car person you can count onthe fact that my collection is growing.
Oppps got distracted there didn't I? Anyway after waiting the two hours for this stuff to work its way through my system where i got a little more ewwwwwwwwww to drink, and my IV in perperation for the dye. My favorite part of the this scan, it always makes me laught when the dye starts cause I can't help but think how many people atcually jump up think oh crap I just peed myself. I sick sense of humor.
Anyway after the scan I was suppose to be done, this is where I am suppose to exit the hospital and go to Mcdonalds for my large Vanila shake, yep that is my reward after every procedure. However this was not to be, the tech came out and told me my doctor wanted to head to x-ray, then to ultra sound. Needless to say, my hormone rage started its climb at that very moment. Debbie my friend who takes me to the hospital for any procedures, told me not to sweat it they are just getting more views. Of course this earned her a you just got moved to the top of my list look. Its ok though she has gotten that look alot in the 15 years we have know each other.
Now ofcourse the VA being hat it is, I was told that my doctor would review the findings with me at our next appt. So I am in a holding pattern until August 7th unless they call me ahead of time. I am hoping and planning on them not calling me, no news after all is good news.
As my dear friend Re told me last night, I will keep myself busy, i will belive that it is all just to insure that everything is good to go.

So sorry for the week wait - keeping busy will be good for both the waiting and the stopping smoking! And - You are right! No news is usually good news...hold on to that positive attitude.
Would have loved to see the "you just got moved to the top of my list look" :-)
I've been known to shoot those on occasion, myself!

Oh yes I got my shake, 2 in fact. It is such a long drive from hospital to the house (2 hours) we were half way home when i stopped another mickyd's and started whining that i needed a nother shake writh then and there. Of course I got my way. HAHAHAHA. I got the whine thing down.

I love your attitude, but I don't think I could wait a week for results! You definitely earned those shakes. If you're travelling 2 hours (like me for rads) for services, are you travelling to a regional center? If so, don't they have a triage nurse who you can call to get your results quicker? That's how it is handled at my center. The nurse talks to the doc and if the doc can't get back to you, the doc gives the info to the nurse and the nurse gets back to you. xoxoxo Lynn0 -

I'm thinking you drink all the shakes you want!! No need to fret, however, because I know why they did the additional test....they didn't see ANYTHING unusual on the Cat Scan, so they had to keep looking!! That is great news!! hurry up and wait. Hopefully the week will go by fast and you will have your good results soon. Sounds as if a lot of things are going on with you right now, so take a big deep breath, and let it out. Now do that a couple more times, and hopefully the need for a cigarette will go away too.

TJ... I'm sorry I'm just getting to this thread... call me pokey today... (had a few too many suds at yesterdays bbq with my husbands family... oopps)... are we supposed to be having suds?? I'm thinking it's okay because after all I'm not on any treatments yet... okay...so now you....
I love so much... the need to hurry up and run more tests.... okay now that we've done that... you get to wait... love it NOT! I am so sorry that you have to go through another week of that damned game... hang in there... I will be sending many many positive thoughts your way and will be sitting on the edge of my seat, chomping at the bit... awaiting the good news post....
NO SMOKING... hey... you have to set the example your a couple days ahead of me, I will be joining you tomorrow morning... wondering if I can survive it... and really wondering if my family will survive it...lol...

Wow... Lotsa changes in the game plan. No wonder you had TWO vanilla shakes! (Which you, of course, SO deserved.)
