I know your misery. My onc
I know your misery. My onc hasnt been there for me either. Its like im being pushed off. I guess unless they have been through it, they have no idea how important it is to us to let us know what is going on, even if it is nothing. I hope you are ok and it all turns out good.

Oh Tasha
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. But I'm so glad to hear you have a plan and are persistant. Please let us know how you are doing and I will be praying for you and with you until Friday
Lots of Love
Aurora
P.s. you can bet I'll keep them crossed for you too!!!!!!!!!!0 -
With You
tasha,
"bugger him" is right!!! You are your best advocate - don't quit until you find someone who appreciates your sense of urgency.
Sending you strength and prayers.

Do they have to wait until Friday?
I don't understand Tash..what is growing the area of pain? a lump? redness? I am pretty Daft at times. I know I have swelling under my mastectomy side on the ribs and they say it is lymphedema. It is sometimes sore and a little painful. Please let us know as soon as you find out ..mybe you should give charisma-bypass the boot. My fingers and toes are crossed for you sweet girl.
love, jackie0 -
Fingers and Toes Crossed and sending good thoughts
Tash, of course you have our very best wishes. We are concerned about you. Like Jackie, I am confused though: your ribs hurt, but there are also growths?
Also, an onc. who shares your sense of urgency is a good idea, like FaithandPrayers said. Wish you did not have to wait 'til Friday. Is there an emergency number for your oncology clinic?0 -

I am here, with my finger crossed, my prayers being sent upward, and my love and strength stright to you.

J, I knew you hadn't posted much lately and was concerned about it. But, I really didn't expect that it had anything to do with your health. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this right now, and I'm glad you're having it checked out, even though it meant a long visit to the ER. Stay persistent: as you know, you need to be your own advocate, when it comes to anything dealing with the medical world.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and say a few prayers. The prayers may not make you feel better, but they'll make me feel better.

It's HIS freakin job!!!!!!!!
It's HIS freakin job!!!!!!!! He's the one that should be concerned and order a bone scan. What is wrong with this man! Please, I hope you do find someone else, you know someone that actually is a little interested in people and helping them survive. I never did like him, not only because he sounds like an arrogant sob, but primarily because he was so casual about the interaction betw the anti-depressants you are on and Tamoxifen. I think you mentioned once that you are stage 4 and I can't understand why he resisted erring on the side of safety. To think that you were not getting full benefit of tamoxifen just infuriated me. But hey, it's not his life!
This guy is a loser and I don't often say that about anyone. His medical license should be pulled and his licence for being a human being should be pulled as well. Take out your steel toed work boots and use them.
Personally, I think Fri is too late if it's growing that fast. I know it's hard to get in to see these people. Now that I think about it, my family doc could order scans. If you have a good relationship with yours maybe he can make something happen sooner.
We're pulling for you and hope it turns out being nothing to worry about.

I am glad that you
Tasha,
I am glad that you have the Friday appointment but I wish it was sooner. Someone mentioned lymphodema and perhaps that will be what is causing this, but with your original diagnosis, your oncologist should be all over this. Shame on him. You know that my bestest thoughts are with you and that I have you in my heart. Keep us informed, cause we care so much for our dear Tasha. Hoping you just have overdone it at your job lifting something.

I hope that it is
Tasha,
I hope that it is something benign, something like Stef said. Perhaps you hurt yourself lifting something at work. I will be thinking of you and sending you my positive thoughts for your appt. on Friday. You are wonderful person and a bright light for me personally . Although you don't know it you have helped me out a number of times especially when I would be feeling down and I would read one of your posts containing your "wicked humour" ( not a spelling error I spelled it your way). Please let us know the outcome. Love Surf
P.s. My offer for a surf trip to California still stands0 -
Tasha....
So sorry for what you are going through. You did the right thing by going to the emergency room. Wish they could have helped you more. I would be scared too if I had something growing that fast. Maybe something will come through tomorrow and you can be seen sooner. Hang in there. Keep us posted...you know we're here for you. Pammy0 -

Different thoughts
Julia, So sorry for the bad day at the ER and for your discomfort and anxiety. Glad you are getting checked out today!
I have a new perspective about my onc. The first time I met with him (eons ago a year ago last May), he did not crack a smile. Oftentimes over the past year, I felt that he was frustrated with me for being pushy and detail oriented. He was definitely upset with me about my depression. He actually ranted last fall: "I see this all the time. People beat cancer and then they let the fear of cancer ruin their lives."
Yesterday, at my appointment was a whole different universe. Since my response to this whole trip has taken a 180, I communicate differently and so did he. He told me what a relief it was to talk with someone who was happy and smiling because he sees so much of the opposite. I hadn't looked at the selflessness of his job until then.
Not saying that your charisma-not onc shouldn't be dumped...just looking at the oncology docs in a new light.
I am wishing and praying (whether you want me to or not) that it can all be resolved at your appointment tonight. How's Jamie taking all this? And thanks for taking the time to encourage me as you go through this! You are heavyweight wonderful.
xoxoxo (learned to do that from you!) Lynn0 -
