We only have two of themcats_toy said:cat cake
funny stef!
how are your three (that are staring at me as I type) doing? They look like cat blotters!
=^..^=
We only have two of them now. I think I already told the story about them. The Mainec**n looking one in front is Lion. We think she was originally someone's pet. She had a litter of kittens in our yard and we found homes for all except her and the two boys (Cricket the tabby and Cocoa the one that looks like a Havana brown). So we had them all fixed and they are indoor cats only. We don't know how old she was but the boys are 9 1/2 years old and she was no kitten when they were born. She died about a month or so ago. The boys were lost without her at first. She was a sweetheart and a love. The boys are great also but they are a little feral and hide whenever anyone comes over. The tabby will sometimes come out but the brown one hides so completely we have friends and relatives that have never seen him. But on a good note, if they are bugging me, I can ring the doorbell and have a hour or more of peace and quiet before they realize no one is here. Lion on the other hand always greeted everyone. These cats came into my life while I was finishing treatment for uterine cancer and Lion died when I was finished with breast cancer. I guess her job was done. The really weird thing is that every year except one, we have had cats come in our yard and have litters. One year, there were three cats and three litters. I go around and ask the neighbors if these are there cats and they always deny responsibility. The first few years I would get them and find homes. Now I just round them up and take them to the animal shelter. Most of them are extremely feral. Right now there is a grey tabby mom who had a litter in October (very late litter) that I couldn't catch. I caught all but one of those kittens (a male thankfully) but now she is out there with three new kittens, the leftover boy and about 3 other males who are nosing around for their next chance to impregnate her. I have my traps out but so far no luck. We don't feed them but they drink the water from the bird feeders and they catch birds and mice. The other day the mom had a big old mouse and was teaching the kittens how to catch their dinner. While I love the cats, this cat nursery has to end. It's not like we are on a farm. I'm in the middle of a housing track. I think they choose here because most of our neighbors have dogs. We never had this problem when we had our lab mixes. They were gentle as can be but they loved to chase any cat that wandered in. They never got too close to the cats but they would run them back over the fences. I looked at your other pictures and your cats are so cute. How many total?
