I'm here, I'm here!!! Babe is here
I've been absent because i had surgery on my femur. As most of you know the breast cancer went to the bone which has been causing extreme discomfort and pain, so i've been dealing with that. The dr wanted to insert a rod in my femur because the bone was thining in that area and he wanted to prevent breakage. The surgery was on the 23rd of June and i went to rehab after that. So, in healing from that and still having pain i just havent felt like logging on. It's hard to get out the chair sometime because the bones are so stiff and painful and walking to the computer just doesnt appeal to me when i'm feeling painful.
My oncologist wants me to have some radiation on the painful spots so i can get some relief so i'm looking forward to that happening next week. I went to the radiation oncologist today so he could tattoo me and get my treatment plan ready. I'm having a bone scan done on monday so the oncologist can see if any new developments have arrived and i'm also having a CT scan done of the neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis area so she can make sure nothing else is going on there either. The radiation oncologist wants to see the results from the bone scan before he does any work because he wants to make sure he radiates all the spots that need to be radiated, which is fine with me because i want to get the most out of these treatments.
So besides all that **** going on, still not being able to do nothing but sit the most part of the day and watch those stupid morning shows and afternoon stories, i'm hanging in there.
I still feel very positive that everything in my life will get better because God is a good God and a loving God and he's gonna see me through this.
I do get some relief when i have my bone infusion once a month (aredia) that helps alot. Since i had my surgery on the 23rd and then had the aredia on july 11 i really didnt feel any different and thats because the surgery messed that up. Hell i was feeling better before i had the damn surgery. I have to use a cane when i walk and sometimes i use my scooter but i do manage to get around when i have to.
My dr says chemo will be in the future but shes not doing anything until after the CT scan results come thru so until then thats on hold. So......ummmm, let's see, i think you guys are all caught up. And please forgive me for not coming on board. I didnt mean to make you guys worry about me. "I'm still amongst the living" (SMILE).
I'll update when i have news to give, promise:-)
I love all of you, please know that.

Hi Babe, thank you for the update. I am glad they were able to do something to help stabilize your femur, however I am sorry you are having such pain that certainly is not good. I have been watching that thread to see if you had posted, I just checked it a few moments ago. So happy to see you, please let us know how your upcoming CT goes, yes God is good and he will carry you through this.

hi Babe!!!!
I was sooo happy to see your beautiful face and your post...isn't it nice to feel the love??? What a family we have created; truly remarkable.
You are such a strong, brave and spiritied woman; I consider it an honor to be one of your friends~I went to the Relay For Life 2 weeks ago, and make a few Luminarias. One said CSN Kindred Spirits, one said Those Who Fight, and another said Warrior-Survivors. I hope you felt that spirit from Calif to MD, as you were definately one who I had in mind!
Hugs,

Greetings to you, Babe!
So good to see you here! And, thanks so much for filling us in on all that's been happening with you. Though I'm sorry for all the challenges, complications, discomfort and pain - your Princess Warrior spirit is extremely admirable. Please continue to take really good care of yourself. I'll be hoping for the best, always, for you.
And next time TV gets to be beyond boring - check in with us again. There's always someone here to "talk" to, as you know. :-)
With best wishes, and...
Kind regards, Susan0 -

Catscan !
You mentioned having a catscan done.
Have you ever had a petscan done ?
I don't think a catscan is as good as a petscan, it can miss the spots a petscan will pick up.
After a year of chemotheropy for tumors in my right lung, a catscan was showing everything was O.K.. Then after a final petscan it found a spot on my liver and a spot on my rib bone.
Now arter three new chemotheropy sessions with new drugs, another petscan shows no more cancer in my whole body ! I'm on my second chemotheropy session tomorrow after the good news, to make sure it's all gone and out of my body. I'm suppose to have three sessions, but I just can't take any more, so two sessions will have to do. If the doctor says evrything still looks good then a final petscan to make sure. I would ask about a petscan and see what your doctor says about that.
It's nice to here from you !
I don't check in here as much as all the other people here do. But I caught your post right away and wanted to say hello to you and say I wish you well.

No, i've never had a Petscan done and that's because my co-pay for that is $750! Whew, to much money. So far when i have been having the CT scans they seem to tell the dr what she wants to know, hell i dont want to much imformation my emotions are on overload as it is. I had a bone scan done this morning so once the dr gets those results then i'll be starting radiation within a day or two.
Thanks for your concern. I'm hanging in there and just enjoying what i can do.
Much love to all my sisters & brothers,
You guys are always in my prayers.
