HI EVERYONE, HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING OK.. I have a question. I had my resection and ileostomy 7 wks ago and my abdomen is still very tender. Has anyone else experience this. I thought I would be fully recovered by now.. Thanks.

    Tenderness
I am 3 1/2 months out of surgery and I'm still tender. Some clothing I still can't wear. This is nothing unusual and you shouldn't be fearful. 7 weeks is relatively short for healing. If I do anything strenuous then I feel it in my abdomen. It will take some time for your tummy and everything else to heal. I thought too that I should be healed by now, but I'm still not covering my scar with my adhesive from the wafer because it hurts when I pull it off. If I push on my abdomen now, I still get some pain. This is normal.

    Tummy tenderness
I had my resention in early March and still have some tenderness and once in a while my incicion puts forth a sharp pain or two. I guess I haven't given it much thought as I have had two colonoscopies (ys?) since surgery both of which included growth removal...called by my Dr. minor surgery each time. Healing is an individual process, though. Some people just heal faster than others. If you are really worried ask your doctor about it, too.

    All the best!
