I just discovered a semi hard lump above my belly button..I am thinking it is scar tissue but don't know for sure..Has anyone else have had this problem???? I do get shooting pain in that area sometimes...I have an appointment with my oncol on the 21st. So I was just wondering if I should go sooner or can it wait..I am really not sure..........JULIE

Hi, Julie
It is possible that it could be scar tissue. They cut me above my belly button too and it is hard there with a little ripple. I hurt real bad under my ribs too when they opened me for my liver surgery - lots of scar tissue involved with as much cutting as they did.
I'm not sure if you should see the doc - if you're feeling ok, maybe you would be ok until the 21st. You could call them tomorrow morning and just ask, maybe they will see you sooner.
Wish I could give you a definite, but abdominal surgery does leave inside scar tissue as well as outside. I'm hoping that is all that is is.

My scar from my illeostomy
My scar from my illeostomy has lumps under/in it. I have "pulled" the incision and am undergoing PT for it now. They do ultrasound to help break up that scar tissue. Haven't had time to see if it's working before I got sick again, but will get back to it and the exercises ASAP.
