I dread this and am scared out of my wits. Being sick and bald. Isn't that something to look forward to!

Some good news, some not so good...
Glad the "burning" sensation turned out to be nothing of concern, and that you're healing so well - good news!
Chemo - yes, not so good news. Scary - yes, of course. Yet, it IS doable. Many of us here have been through it, or are currently in treatment. We'll all be here for you, Maryann.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
Maryann......
Just look at how far you have come in such a short time! You were terrified of surgery...as we all were. But you did it and you are doing well!
You can also do the chemo! You may or may not be sick. If you are, your onc can help you out with some very good meds.
Bald, yes, but it is only temporary.
You will find out that you are far stronger than you ever thought! And we will be here to help you when you need help.
Hugs,

I want to wish you good luck with your chemo Maryann! I didn't have to have chemo, so, I
don't know from personal experience what it is like. But, so many here have had it, and, will help you thru it.0 -

Palo Verde sets you up with an appointment to talk to a chemo nurse before you begin treatment. Mine was on a Friday and I started the following Monday. I met with Mary, who is very nice. I hope you get her. She explained all the different drugs to me, answered questions and even gave me an informative DVD which I watched during the appointment. Then of course I found this website and read everything that was posted about the treatment I am having. It really helped me to read what everyone had to say about the chemo drugs and all the other things that I had no idea about. I will be thinking of you tomorrow!0 -

I wish you the best with the chemo. Don't let them scare you with all the possible side effects. They have to tell you about them but that doesn't mean you will have any of them. Hair loss yes but the rest not necessarily. I was blessed to have only have hair loss, minimal quizziness and some fatigue. I was able to due a full time teaching internship during my chemo.
You can do this Maryann.0 -

Maryann, sorry to hear about the chemo. But it will be one more arsenal in your war aginst BC that will only be on your side!! As for the burning...I am going through the same thing. Very painful down the back of my arm too. It hurts if my clothing touches it. I was told that your deep nerves are cut during surgery and they need to heal and grow new endings (and there are lots of little ones!). It has calmed down a good bit and it's been 1 month since my surgery, but not completely gone. Takes a long time to go away but gets better each week! Pammy0 -
