I cut this out of the newspaper several years ago and decided you all might enjoy it!

1 heaping cup of encouragement
1 cup of melted compassion
2 cups of hope
1 cup of love
1 tablespoon of faith (it only takes a little)
2 large attitudes
Lots of hugs in assorted sizes

Cream encouragement and compassion together.
Add hope, love, and faith.
Mix thoroughly until smooth.
Slowly add the unbeaten attitude.
Batter should be firm but not unyielding.
Knead gently.
Roll in hugs, and cut out to the desired shape.
Add stars for the eyes and a kiss.
Bake in a warm oven.
Excellent when shared with a friend.

    RE,

    That is beautiful.

I should send this to my supervisor at work. She is the most cold-hearted person on this earth. They day before my surgery when I left the office, she never even wished me good luck and I haven't gotten a phone call from her in the 2 weeks since surgery.

Oh, did I tell you all that I work for a church?

As always, thanks, dear RE :-)
My favorite part: HOPE is the main ingredient (2 cups!) in this recipe. Perfect for not only us, but everyone.

    Kind regards, Susan

and so true if everyone lived by this recipe what a wonderful place it would be.

Maryann, i am so sorry your supervisor is so cold-hearted. such bad karma is coming at her.
It is the minority of people who are like this, but there is always that one bad apple. Yesterday a friend/coworker stopped to visit me and one of her kids happened to let it slip that her mom had a fight with another co-worker of ours I said oh no...what happened? My friends said she made the comment "lots of people have cancer but when Jackie gets it the whole place falls to their knees!" my friend told her she was crazy to be jealous of me because I have cancer, and to stop and think about something before it tumbles out of her mouth. I just wish i wouldn't have had to hear the comment made about me when i was not present! some people!
BTW I am wishing you all of the luck in the world.
    hugs, jackie

I was gonna say, Jackie~ couldn't you have gotten something else!? LOL Sheesh, girl, quite enough people have cancer in general, and BC~ well, I dare say there is evidence that this particular brand of the Beast is so non-discrminatory! You didn't need to push to the front of the line and get it too! Just to make your workplace "fall to their knees"!!!!

But, as long as you did, you may as well know that some will never have the compassion or the empathy to be one of YOUR Kindred Spirits. That's why you are in here with us, who get it, and love you. And right after I am through feeling sorry for the misfortune which makes people so cold, I am also satisfied knowing that yes, one day, Our Karma will run over Their Dogma.

    Hugs,
    Claudia

Maryann.. don't feel like the lone ranger... not only has no one in my office asked me how things were going... what the test results were..etc... My boss flat out told me... I don't want to know anything about it... not results, not treatment, not doctor appointments... I want completely out of the loop"... I have worked for him for 14 years... such a solid wall of support... NOT!

We have this group... srew them!
