Chemo brain meltdown

I'm at work and I'm having a chemo brain meltdown and am having a very difficult time keeping "it" together. I'm working on expenses and budgets and numbers and more numbers and people are asking me questions and I can't even figure out what they are talking about ... let alone try to answer their questions. I am so frustrated and embarrassed. I feel like such and idiot. I've had to forward email questions to other people and ask them to help me ... I just feel so stupid. My chemo ended the last of May ... but the chemo brain is just as bad (maybe worse) as when I was actually having chemo. Today ... it's like I'm having trouble just functioning.

Well ... I just had to vent ... it was either that or have a complete emotional breakdown here at the computer.

Thanks for being there ... I feel a little better already ... just knowing I'm not going crazy and that I am not alone.

love you all

hugs.
teena

    Hang on ..........
It must be so frustrating.......I just had my second infusion on Monday.........I already have chemo brain...but honestly, I think I had it before this beast made it's self known....but now at least, I have an excuse! And trust me I am using it........I heard a woman who is a 16 year BC survivor leading a support group say.........."USE THIS BEAST! If there's something you don't want to do, say "I Had cancer, I can't do that......." "I had chemo......it clouds your thoughts..........I can't do this........" "I can't take my groceries to the car, I had cancer"........She said after 16 years she's still using this.....works everytime she said! SHE SAID..........."USE IT!"

Oh Teena... I'm so sorry that you are having a bad day!! Hang in there... sending cyber hugs your way... at least you have an excuse... my brain hasn't been functionable lately either.. but I don't have any excuses... I work with numbers all day too... it took me three extra days to close the companies books this month... I kept forgetting things and what I was in the middle of.... at least you have a valid excuse....

    Hugs to you my friend!!

I am so sorry Teena that you are having a bad day. I hope it is better

now, or, that you have left work and are at home relaxing. I never had chemo, so, I can't

blame anything on that, but, I do blame most stuff anymore on rad brain. Yes, that is my

excuse and I am sticking to it! Take care Teena!

Yes, Rad Brain is also acceptable...
As is... Surgery Brain, Mammo Brain, Scan Brain, Biopsy Brain, etc. ...

It's all the same CRAP - Breast Cancer Brain!

    Kind regards, Susan

    Yeah............
I'm going with "Cancer" brain!! The only problem is my husband doesn't think this is a valid excuse because, according to him, I haven't had cancer ALL my life with him. He just had to bring technicalities into it! So I told him prior to cancer it was....blond moments!! (quick thinking, huh?)
Hope your day got better!! :) Pammy

    Feeling much better ...
I'm feeling much better ... and thanks to all of you and your kind words of encouragement. That's what got me through that extremely frustrating day. I honestly think that if I hadn't had this place to vent ... I probably would have had a total breakdown at my desk. But ... you all came to my rescue and I made it.

Can't say that my brain is working any better ... but at least I got through that tedious project I was working on and hopefully won't have to got through anything that detailed for quite awhile.

Thanks again to all of you who were there for me when I needed you most.

    hugs.
