    Cyst on kidney
I have one too. They found it when they did the initial CT scan before my colon resection three years ago. Mine was very small, so all they are doing is watching it. Mainly they are watching for blood in my urine and I am to contact my primary care physician if I have back pains. So, I'm aware of the cyst but not worrying about it. Sounds like you need to talk with your doctor about the cyst and what he/she recommends.

    Me Too
    Hi, Sheri

Me 3, I should say. I've got one 2 and it is being watched and told not to worry about it.
My bowel resection surgeon he had one too - apparently it is not uncommon to have a cyst on the kidney, don't know why but many of us have that. When I say Us, I mean the human population as a whole, not just people with cancer.

As always, check with your doctor and report any concerns, that way it is on record.

I have one but since its been there for so long even before my DX, they decided to leave it alone, since it wasnt bothering me.

    cyst on kidney
It's very common. People often have little cysts in lungs as well. Unless they said it had some worrisome characteristics you can forget about it.

    Kidney cyst
My dr. said I have 'lesions' on one kidney? Are lesions different from cysts? I have a CT scan scheduled for August to look at these whatevertheyares and naturally I worried that my colon cancer has spread to the kidney. It just never seems to end, does it?

    Lesion or Cyst
this website is so great for sharing info.....see my post "laugh, cry, or...."
just had a CT scan that showed a tiny indeterminate low grade density lesion on
the interior pole of my kidney which scared me but now i have called the
oncologist and gotten my last CEA count and it is normal so i am thinking it
is nothing to worry about. No telling what they can find when they are looking.
also had a nodule on my lung but it has been eliminated as a problem. Had
PET Scan this morning and see oncologist Thursday to put all the pieces
together. But my anxiety level dropped from 100 to 5 by getting the written
CT report and calling about my CEA count. So hold on, just another bend in
the road and it probably is a benign spot that's been there for a while....
keep thinking good thoughts and show the door to that old boogie, anxiety.

    "lesion"
The term lesion is broad. A lesion can be a problem or not. I have been aware of fibroids in my uterus for over 20 years. For 10 years, I occasionally get fluid cycts in my breasts and have had them drained if they bother me. I get a little frustrated when the radiology reports spend time talking about the "lesions" in my uterus and breast and give very little information about "lesions" in my liver and lungs which are/were CRC metastasis.

    Cyst on Kidney
My Dad also has a cyst on his kidney. The doctors discovered it when they found the rectal cancer. They seemed to be not concerned about the kidney cyst at all. When they performed the rectal cancer surgery, they were going to see if it would be necessary or possible to remove the kidney cyst. After opening him up, the doctors decided not to be bothered by the cyst so they left it in. I guess it is relatively common to have a kidney cyst.

    Lesions/cysts on kidney
Thank you all for info. I feel great right now and will put aside the worry until I really know what is going on.
