    I do have some ornamental grasses and the deer don't bother them. And, you shouldn't cut

    them back in the Fall. Cut them back in the Spring and they will do great.

    Deer won't eat your ornamental grasses, so, you should probably just buy some new plants, since the ones you cut back haven't done anything in 2 years. And some grasses are only annuals. I think the purple ones are annuals not perennials. Be sure and check.
