Effects
I had to stop getting the IV Dye due to an allergic reaction and the radiologist refrusing to perform the CT Scan with the dye, but even with the dye had no ill affects.
The only effects I have had is the bathroom issue. When I drink the white milky goop it makes me regulate myself before the scan and after the scan, but besides that I am pretty much good all day.
I would speak with your doctor and radiologst to see if the effects you are having are considered normal. -
Sick
I have had several scans over the past year with no problems;
then had one in February and by the time I got home, I was
throwing the stuff up everywhere and then I had the shakes
for several hours, could not get warm or stop shaking....
thank god it passed and I was ok after several hours but
that had never happened before. The scans they are giving
me now don't require drinking any junk.... I get a PET/CT
scan and a biphasic scan of the liver....thank goodness. -
hi
oh man i remember my second to last ct i got locally- they gave me this thick barium crap that made my stomach rumble and i had diarrhea and felt sick all day. My first ct scan and most recent one were at mayo clinic and they have me this clear tasteless stuff that gave me absolutely no side effects. They wrote down on paper what they use so i can request it back home, and if they won't use it locally, i will drive the 7 hours to mayo because i will never again drink that barium stuff..
