It starts making me tired...then go lay down...then in 1-1/2 hours am wide awake and want to chat with the world.

Sleeping
I had that too. I stayed on the Percocet, took it faithfully every 4-6 hours. At night, I wouldn't be tired, but I thought it was because I was not a 'back' sleeper. Before surgery, I was a stomach/side sleeper.
I started wheening (?) myself off the percocet - took 1 in the morning and 1 at night - until I started vomiting from it, then I went off cold turkey.
After that, I started sleeping better. It could have been too that after 4 weeks when the drains came out, I was able to move around better in my sleep, and could somewhat sleep on my side.
Not going crazy - it's just a little adjustment.
Naps are good!

Hi Maryann, the percocet
Hi Maryann, the percocet didn't let me sleep and it also caused constipation, so make sure to eat lots of greens, drink lots of water and if you need to take senokot tablets for the constipation.
Seems like the percocet can either cause drowsiness or the exact opposite. Hugs, Lili0 -

Thanks ladies. Yes, dr. gave me some stuff to take for constipation.
Figured it might be the medicine. You've both been a great help.
Thank you.

Sorry you can't sleep Maryann. I was never on that drug, so, I can't respond about it. But, have you asked your doctor for a sleeping pill/anxiety pill maybe? That might help you. You need your sleep!0
