It seems to me that you would be better off wearing the hospital gown it gives the staff easy access to the surgery site and any drains.
Good Luck

I agree with tj. Hospital gowns are easy on easy off easy access. I would bring a loose, button up blouse to wear home.

They are right. Just wear the hospital gowns. Good luck!
Hospital gowns for 24 hours, then have some nice soft button up ones for at home. Makes it easier to take off and on, plus opening to change dressings and such. Plus your doc probably doesn't want you putting your arm(s) over your head for a couple weeks due to all the sutures. I bought about 3 new pairs for myself as part of the "pre~pampering" process.

Yep, hospital gown.
Once I came home, I had knee length cotton nightgowns that snapped up the front. Kind of stylin' in an old lady sort of way....lol!
Anything with a top that buttons or snaps is really easiest for a little while.

Hospital gown is good, then front fasteners. I found it impossible to use pull-overs. I also got a front-unloader bra.
Hope this helps Jxxxxxxxxxxx -

I did the hospital gown while I was in there, then I did zip up hoodies (surgery was in January). For jammies at home, I had a stretched out top/bottom that easily went over my head and I didn't have to stretch my arms up.
Because of the drains, this was my normal attire for about 3 1/2 weeks.
As for the reconstruction, I had my implants in May. I got the zip up corset bra which I was told to wear 24/7, and I wore my zip up hoodies again. About the beginning of June, it started to get hot wearing the zip up corset, so I switched to a regular bra.
Hope the info helps!

Thank you!
Thank you, all! I had a mastectomy then reconstruction ten years ago, but for the life of me cannot remember what I wore! The advice is to stick with the hospital gown--someone mentioned getting cute boxers to wear beneath--and my own spirit lifting robe. I am going to take that wise advice! (I will probably in hospital five or more days as I have to have the reconstruction and the surrounding tissue removed which will leave a huge hole: skin grafts will be needed to cover it. I am also having the other natural breast removed as I did have a scare there and want to have matching sides. I appreciated your input and response! Thank you!
