I beat this !
I just yesterday got the news from my last Petscan and there is no more cancer to be found !
It all started Jan. 1st 2008. Breast cancer again for the third time. Four tumors in the right lung, and cancer cells in the fluid around that same lung. They called it Plural infussion. Over a litter of the fluid was drained out of my lung sack through my back.
A year and a few months of chemotheropy and all the tumors and all the bad fluid around the right lung was completely gone ! Then a petscan to be sure. It turned out to be bad news, not what I was expecting. There was now a spot found on my liver and a spot found in my rib bone.
Three more chemotheropy sessions with new drugs, every three weeks apart. I only got sick a few times, throughing up bile mostly. Don't get me wrong, this has all been a very hard time for me.
Last friday I had another Petscan to see how the new chemotheropy was working, or not.
This tuesday ( yesterday ), I had an appointment with the doctor to go over the results of the Petscan. CANCER FREE ! There is no more signs of any cancer in my whole body !
I have waited for a year and a half to here this news !
Three more chemotheropy sessions and a new Petscan to be sure, and I'm all over this !
Then just regular check-ups.
The one thing about breast cancer is it never leaves you. I had stage four cancer, and when I started reading up on this it was all very bad news. Just months to live. NOT TRUE ! I'm proof !
Maybe today, or the next few days it will all sink in to me that I'm free of cancer, again !
Keep telling yourself, It can be done, it will be done, and I'm going to do it !
I wanted to give-up more than once, and was ready to tell the doctor that yesterday !
Now I have the courage to do the last three chemotheropy sessions.
None of this is easy, but never give up hope !
IT CAN BE DONE, IT WILL BE DONE, AND I DID IT !

What an inspiration!!
I believe in miracles....and you're living proof. You're an inspiration to all of us. My one year anniversary was today and my 15th surgery is tomorrow. But, that's a good thing. Tomorrow will be the final phase of my reconstruction. I will get my nipple and be done...and I pray that when I finish my Herceptin in Sept. I too will hear the wonderful word.... Cancer Free.
May God continue to bless you and keep you healthy!
Congrats -- Joannem650
