I missed the whole discussion about tanning, etc, since I was travelling. Even here in Holland, the tanning capitol of the WORLD, the ads are on TV about using sunscreen to prevent....yes....wait for it....skin cancer....

I am a living, breathing example of you CAN get cancer. And then get cancer AGAIN! I also had a talk with a guy who had a bad heart, and smoked. HE said "Well, we smokers will just die younger, and the health system won't have to support us". I don't know about you all, but MY treatments for cancer cost nearly 3/4 of a million dollars. Skin cancer means ANY skin covering...even the covering of the brain. He died from lung cancer they found when they were matching him to his new heart...sigh...

I'll get off my soapbox...but whew! I guess I'm not much of a gambler with my life any more...I worked too hard to save it!!!

    Yeah, you get to where you want your friends and family to start taking it seriously. It will get you if you give it an opening!

    I think everything is a personal choice. If someone were to tan, that is their business. If they don't want to, that is their business too. When one goes thru cancer, whatever gives them joy or puts a smile on their face or makes them feel good, they should do, within reason.

    I gave up enough to the cancer, now I intend to enjoy myself. Of course I use a screen but I'm not going to live my life in the shade. I look and feel better with a tan, so why not?
    Anything which makes for better self-image after being bald, sick looking, bloated, white, lop-sided and very self concious for a year is, in my books OK.

    Yes, I Smoke, Eat red meat, Drink bottled Water, Tinker with my car engine without wearing 'Arse-Feeling Gloves', I drink, I work way too many hours and I LIVE MY LIFE!
