I will be prepping for a sigmoidoscopy wednesday, I'm to do 2 enemas and have to be at the hospital around 8:30. Any tips, last time I prepped the solution stung and I had quite a bit of cramping. It also felt like it was hard for the solution to go in. Sorry about being so graphic.

    Prepping ...
I had sigmoidoscopies every 3 months for 2 years. I found there is a huge difference in enemas. The FLEET enema is the best and there was no stinging for me. Yes, I tried the Equate and it did not give good results for me. I had one enema the night before and one in the morning. I allowed plenty of time for it to work and before travel time. I did not have cramping. As you are prepping keep repeating to yourself in a very soft tone - Relax, Relax, Relax. It will be over quickly and things go much better if you are relaxed. Hope this helps.

The fleet enema is what I used and had the stinging from. I told the Dr about this and they said to use just tap water. Thank God I am being sedated when they do the sigmoidoscopy.
