Hello my fellow semi's!

OMG, it's been a rough road! I thought for sure i was going to die from all of the pain. I was up to eight percocet a day, and they no longer were working. I started mixing it up with ibuprofen, tylenol, AND percocet. The pain was excruciated after every bm. I finally figured out that i must have cracked my tailbone again, and the crack was into my hip. The more bm's, the greater the pain, and the longer it took for any mercy to come. Over the past week, things have changed dramatically, and i'm able to figure out what's coming. Thursday was the first time i left the house in about a month. It felt liberating, even though i doped up heavily just to be safe. My onc wanted me to go to their monthly support group the next day, but i was very scared. I went anyway, and low and behold, it was okay. Granted i was doped up.

Every day has been getting better until...the day before yesterday i ate pizza...OMG! I spent the entire day yesterday in the toilet, miserable and in pain. Light bulb! I drank tons of miralax and got some relief later on. Now i don't think i have a stricture, or at least it has loosened up on it's own. Thank God! I couldn't handle the colon prep stuff right now!

Thank all of you for your support and comfort! I know i just need to be very careful about what i eat while my bowels are still figuring out what to do. Someone on the other post asked me what i eat that helps. The things that seem best for me are soups, spaghetti o's, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and basically anything soft mechanical. I'm learning to stay away from breads and anything thick and doughy that takes forever to digest. Chewing my food really well helps too, i think. I drink a lot of water, and eat those stool softeners twice a day. Now if only the tailbone would heal!

Many hugs,
Krista

    Krista,
I am so sorry you were in so much pain. It sounds like things are getting better bit by bit. You are one tough lady. I hope the tailbone heals soon.
    Take care.

thinking of and praying for you
    Hi Krista,

You have had such a rough time with all of this! I'm sorry to hear you're having continued problems with the pain and tailbone. What does the onc say about all that? Have they been able to xray or do anything to see if the tailbone is actually cracked?
I'm going to PM you w/ a suggestion of somewhere in SD you may be able to get some help.

    Take care,
    Lisa

    Thanks you guys!
My orthopod said he would do another x-ray if i really wanting him to, but that basically this is how the rest of my life is going to be. My bones were so severely damaged by the radiation, they are soft on one side, and brittle on the other. It's an unfortunate side effect from the treatment, for me anyway. Apparently this is a "rare" side effect.

I will read your message Lisa, and respond.

    Have a great week!

    Is there....
...nothing they can do about that pain? I just heard a lady from someone's church had Bone cancer, in her arm, and didn't almost make it, but they actually rebuilt that bone and she is fine now! It may sound weird, but I figure with what they can do these days they can make you bionic if they wanted too! rebuild you all up! LOL

Glad to hear you are feeling better though Krista, I hated to hear how much pain you were in!

    Hugsss!
