LOL - A funny story I had to share

Oh, golly, I had to share this funny story with yall. I have a good friend, Gayle, who is 58 and lives in Kansas City. His wife sent him down here to stay five days with me to help.
While here, he told me this horrible story about a good friend of his who got burns over 80% of his body six month ago. He was a lifelong friend, and Gayle corresponded with each member of the man's family each day of his hospitalization. He wrote emails to his wife, parents, siblings, children and other mutual friends. He would write and say how sad he was that his friend had gotten burned. He would write his concerns during each surgery. He sent written cards and flowers. He would ask if there was anything he could do to help. He said that his friend died from his burns and Gayle sent more emails and letters. He has never heard a single word from any member of his friend's family at all. Not one word. In fact, he didn't even know there had been a funeral.
Gayle was really sad and distraught about it. I asked if he had said something inappropriate and he said he had not. I asked if I could see some of the emails. He showed them to me and at the end of each and every single email or card, he finished it off with "LOL". It turns out he thought LOL meant "Lots of Love." When I told him it meant "Laugh Out Loud," I nearly keeled over in hysterics after seeing the look on his face. That poor family must have thought he was completely crazy and insensitive. "I can't believe this happened to Jerry. Please stay in touch. LOL" "Those surgeries Jerry is going through must be awful. Call if you need me. LOL" "I'm so sorry Jerry passed. He was a dear friend my entire life. If I can help, please let me know. LOL." I laughed so hard that I nearly wet my bed and I had tears pouring down my face from laughing like that. I told him to immediately send all of them an explanation.
Since he went back to Kansas City, he has called each day. Now, instead of saying "I love you" at the end of each call, he yells LOL and I laugh again. Although I hurt for his friend's family, that gut-busting laughter was the best medicine I've had so far. I hope you got a laugh out of it, too. Peace to all today. Make it a good one. LOL

No Way!!!!!!
All I can say to that hilariously tragic story ( or is that a tragically hilarously story???) is:
OMG, LOL, LMAO, @!&***$#, WTH, ( no F bombs from me! )
And I hope things were explained, and that the history of this lifelong friend will indeed heal all wounds , rather than wound all heels!
Thanks for sharing~ if laughter is the best medicine, we will be healthy in no time!
Hugs,
