Hi Kim.......
I also lost my taste for most foods, and I too am a coffee-holic! But nothing tasted right....except for baked potatoes.
For some reason, they still TASTED like baked potatoes. And so, there were times when they were all I ate.
Eventuallly, my taste came back. Awhile after finishing chemo. And I am still on Herceptin also.

I ate a ton of baked potatoes! That is funny. I wanted them all the time with salt, butter and sour cream.
thanks

No Taste
I had 4 infusions of Cytoxan/Taxotere. I developed a strange taste in my mouth so nothing tasted right. Everything was off. However, after about a month of being off chemo, my taster started working again. So, be patient. It should come back. Hang in there. Hugs, Marilynn0 -

I'm experiencing this right now myself....can't drink coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruits and salad, it all tastes bad...the only thing that tasted good to me the first week after chemo was milk! white milk, chocolate milk, cottege cheese, yogurt....but I gave myself a bad case of diarea and the doc said no more dairy...LOL! So now it's bland white foods, potatoes,( I ate mashed potatoes for 3 days, bread, chicken soup, rice etc. for the most part but I'm starting to add back other random things...today I ate some fried chicken and it seems to be digesting ok...0 -

I still can't drink water either. And besides coffee that is all I used to drink. Now I use drink mixes like crystal lite and 4c which have sweetner in the which i think are bad for us. Oh well what can we do.0 -

I too was a coffeholic prior to chemo, now I can't stand even the smell of it. I am 11 months out of treatment and still have the most vile taste in my mouth, I can now taste food and eat pretty much anything and everything.
It might be the tamoxifen?

Oh boy Tasha, As a fellow
Oh boy Tasha, As a fellow addict to coffee I feel your pain on that one. I do have to say I have gotten my taste back for lattes which helps in the caffeine department, now just need a latte maker! Anyway I need to take Tamoxifen so not looking forward to that as a possible side effect.
Thanks for the info though

Thank you. It alwaysjnl said:I didn't have to have chemo,
I didn't have to have chemo, and, I am so happy that I didn't. I just want to tell all of you how very brave you are and how I admire you for going thru it. I can't imagine what all you went thru! You are truly brave warriors! Leeza
Thank you. It always surprises me when people call me brave. They say they couldn't do it. I say yes you could because it is not a matter of bravery for me it is a matter if survival and being here to watch my three duaghters growing up. No choice really in it for me anyway.
