I was told that I would most likely not have my period ever again due to the radiation I received for stage 3 colon cancer. It has been 2 years and I'm having cramps and feeling like my period could start up again. I'm also feeling like I have PMS again. Has this happened to any of you ladies?

    Menstural
I stopped having periods while taking the birth control pill, but every since my last surgery in 2/07 and a tiny lung clot, I had to stop taking the pill which in turn, returned my menstural cycle.

Have you been tested (blood work) to see if you are truly going through the change of life?

    Periods
They did test me and it showed I was in menopause. My chemo and radiation thru me into it. They said if my periods were to start up again that something was wrong. That's what worries me. I'm not happy about these cramps either I haven't missed them. My last period was in April of 2007. I was receiving radiation and chemo both. I am soon to be 51 years old, so sooner or later I would've been in menopause. Before my diagnosis I was having 2 heavy periods a month.

I'm 39 years old and chemo
I'm 39 years old and chemo put me into early menopause. I haven't had a cycle since October! I started chemo in late september. I don't miss it at all. They told me it was a temporary menopause until I have radiation (coming up in August) at which point it will be permanant. I still have PMS symptoms though...bloating, mild cramps, night sweats....but no period.

    I just got my period...
after having 22 chemo treatments in a row. I was on Lupron during my Oxaliplatin regiment (it didn't work, cancer spread). Now I'm doing Folfiri+Avastin (this time with no fertility-saving treatment) and I thought I'd never get my period.

I'm only 33 so I was pretty happy...not that I think it would be a good idea for me to have kids - like, ever. But it's nice to have my body performing some normal function again.

    Hugs and prayers,
    Elizabeth
