    Meeting the Oncologist
You are on the right course~ after the surgery, I met with my oncologist, who, now armed with the surgical information about my specific case, discussed the treatment plan. No worries! This is neither a right/wrong situation for you...some have been sent to an oncologist first if perhaps the size, placement of the lump would respond better to chemo/radiation BEFORE surgery. Most of us have NOT had this happen to us, though!

    Hugs,
    Claudia

    Hi,
Just thought I'd add one more voice. I had my mastectomy 3 weeks ago, and I meet with the oncologist June 11.
So, don't you and your hubby worry!!! All will be well in whatever order it occurs!

    Oncologist
T, I, like many women here, met with my oncologist after surgery. My tumor was aggressive and I wanted it out as soon as possible. I had surgery one week after diagnosis. Then my surgeon recommended the oncologist who planned out my chemo. That oncologist, in turn, recommended my oncology radiologist who planned out my radiation. One step at a time. You will get through this.
