Good News!shortmarge said:Benign Arrhythmia
The cardologist says I have benign arrhythmia and a minor leaky valve. My heart monitor showed that my heart skipped 22,000 times in a 24 hour period. He said that it's not life threatening but since it skips so much (every third beat) he put me on a calcium blocker and if that doesn't work he will try a beta blocker. Since I already have low blood pressure he can only put me on a very low dosage. I asked if he felt the chemo contributed to this, he said there are no blood tests to confirm that it was the chemo and that there would be other doctors that would say absolutely not but he said as my cardologist, "yes". STUPID CANCER!
Oh well, at least it's not life threatening and hope the meds will help.
God Bless to all.

I am glad to hear that it is nothing life threatening. Hopefully the medications will help as I know how annoying the irregular heartbeat can be. My heart does this, but not all the time and it started long before chemo. This stupid cancer certainly does cause a lot of issues! I guess the important thing is that it is not life threatening and that it can be treated with medication.
Take care.

22,000 skips in 24 hours seems like a lot of skips, especially if you already have a low heart rate. I hope the calcium channel blocker will work for you, and does not lower you blood pressure too much, as that it aready low for you. I have been wondering about what the cardiologist said. Glad it is treatable for you. Hope the meds make you feel better. In peace and caring. HUGS to you.0
