great!!
Reading the heading, I have a feeling that you folks at CSN went to great lengths to avoid marginalizing this by insisting that it be restricted to a particular religion or even to those who believe in a deity (or deities).
While I am pre-supposing that I will not be a contributor here, I am sure to visit from time to time.
I am sure that it will be a place of comfort and enlightenment for many, if permitted to exist in a spirit of mutual acceptance as I believe it is intended.
Take care,

Isn't it important for those of us who do subscribe to (insert title) to learn to understand and appreciate those who don't? That's true mutual acceptance. And I am sure we are ALL capable of it.0 -

Blessings to us all!
I am so happy to see this segment of the discussion board! What a wonderful Idea. You CSN staff (aka folks) really are doing a great job making sure we have a variety of topics. Spirituality is certainly a very necessary part of our lives. Prayer helps us to survive!
Many prayers and blessings!

Thank you, CSN Staff
Thank you for this new board. Most importantly, thank you for the "Welcome!" - and, especially, for making it so very clear to all that non-judgmental attitudes and a spirit of tolerance for differences in belief are absolutely necessary for the comfort and security of all members.
It is first and foremost the cancer experience that unites us all. Beyond it, we are each unique individuals. Which should be acceptable.
Thank you, for ALL you do, for us.
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I'm not a religious person but I consider myself to be spritual. I was raised Jewish in a kosher home yet as an adult I don't practice any relegion. Most importantly I was told by my parents that you have to believe in something and I agree. I believe in a higher power and that has helped me get thru my life so far. I also believe that we all have a guardian angel that watches over us, besides our deceased family and friends that are all around us.
We are all intitled to believe in what we wish as long as we don't force our beliefs on others. When I had my surgery,it was in a Catholic hospital and one day a nun came in to talk to me. She had asked why I was there and if I was Catholic. When I told her that I was Jewish, she offered to get a Rabbi for me to talk to.I let her know that it wasn't necessary, because her prayers would be just as good since God listens to us all!
We all might believe in different things but what binds us together is that we are all fighting cancer. Another thing is that no matter what religion we are, we have all come into this world the same way, and we are all going to leave the same way, and we are all humans. At least I assume that we're all humans, aren't we??? LOL :-)0 -

I think the folks at CSN made this so those people want to talk about these topics and how it helped them with cancer can share those thoughts. Just like if you want answers to a cancer question, you may not want a verse from the bible instead so each topic has it's own area. There are hundreds of beliefs and that's just what they are. No one has THE answer so it's a great place to share and learn.0 -

Thank you CSN for this discussion - I am looking forward to learning about other stories.

A Greater Power
I am so thankful to CSN for this new forum. I hope to share and learn, as I have learned so much on the cancer forum. The best part of posting was meeting such wonderful, supportive and kind people who I now consider my family.
I KNOW that without my faith (sometimes reading, meditating in rads, begging & crying in bed after TX) I would not have come thru, not only the TX, but become a different person.
I am still growing in Christ, but I believe we should be evolving (?) each day.
I have been truly humbled, and learned, I am not in control, He is.
God bless! Patty0 -
Happy Anniversary!
So it's been a little over a year since this forum was created by the wonderful folks at ACS. Since spirituality is a big part of people's lives it's great to have a place where people can express themselves and/or have discussions on spiritual topics. There are many paths to spirituality and many belief systems out there. This is a good place to learn about other "truths" that exist in life.
Thank you again...
and Diane too, without her this forum never would have been created ;-)0
