Does any ones stoma bleed when you touch it with wet rag or toilet paper?
Some times when I measure my stoma the plastic hits it and makes it bleed.

The Stoma...amcp said:Stoma bleeding
My husband's does when he is trying to clean around and get all the wax ring residue off and accidently gets too close to it. I think this is normal since the stoma was orginally make to be inside the body not outside.
that you see is actually the intestine turned out so that it can be sewn onto your stomach..It is full of tiny capillaries that tend to bleed very easily when touched or wiped with toilet paper or even when you are applying your prothesis (bag)...I hit mine with a fingernail once while pressing down on the adhesive ring and it bleed a lot but finally stopped..Nothing to be alarmed at, its natural.....The intestine also does not have nerve endings in it so any pain around that area would either be stitches pulling or something else...Hope this helps ya.......0
