hehe - was that terribly mean?

yeeoouuch!
I believe he got the message, and will not ask anymore such questions. Well put. I would have said the very same thing.
Thanks for making me laugh!0 -
No, not mean at all...
Great analogy, Cat! There's nothing comparable for them to endure. Well, at least not "regular" stuff...
I know you're worried, and don' blame you, at all. But, just like everything else - we're all different. My mother's convinced it's "worse" for her because she's very large breasted. (Neither my sister nor I inherited her big boobs. Of course not.) I have often asked the mammo techs for THEIR opinions, since that's what they do all day long. Their standard answers, ALWAYS, is that it simply depends on the individual. NOTHING to do with size.
I'll be hoping it's at least not so bad for you. Considering your surgery, and the resulting tenderness - honestly, I'm not gonna tell you there won't be discomfort. I'll be hoping for not terribly painful. Will be thinking of you on Friday.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
LOL Cat........
LOL Cat, I think he understands a little better now!
As Susan said, we know that you are frightened about having your mammo. Understandable.
When I have to face anything that I am scared about or consider to be unpleasant, I always promise myself a reward afterwards. I'm like a little kid that you have to promise a pony ride to!
Sometimes, it's a new article of clothing, sometimes it's a special dessert. Sometimes, it's just the promise of a cup of coffee on the way home.
Promise yourself some little reward afterward and FOCUS on that. If I just get through the next five minutes of unpleasantness, I am going to go and have a great lunch with friends!
You will be ok girl! We will all be with you!

Hey Cats,
If he didn't get the message from that, or Tasha's suggestion. I use the refrigerator analogy. Stick them in the refrig. door and slam it shut. I think I like Tasha's and yours better,Cat.

HA! Great tutorial Cat! You make me smile...0 -
ok, it didn't hurt too bad the first time...
Thanks for all the support and good wishes! Hubby still doesn't get it, I even asked the tech to go get him and threaten him with a good smashing. But I can't complain too much, he has been by my side and my biggest cheerleader throughout, so I will give him a pass for this one. I know how much he loves sitting in waiting rooms for all my appts. (he he).
Ok, so it didn't hurt too terribly the first time, but then they said they need to do a compression mammo for a better pic. After one of those on both, they wanted another on the lefty (that one is supposed to be my good one!) because they saw a shadow, then again, and again. So after all that, and by now, yes, I am hurting, tech said sorry, but I can't tell you this won't hurt...all was clear. Yay! So even now, as it is still aching, it is worth it to hear good news.
As I sit here rubbing my boob, hubby says "why are you doing that?" I said I guess watching you all these years grabbing the package has finally rubbed off!! I still got it!

Great news, Cat! Thank you for letting us know how it went. Even the word compression sounds painful, but you are right: defnitely worth it for good news.
I hope that the ache goes away soon and that you and your hubby enjoy the rest of the weekend.0 -

There is nothing better than retail therapy and you darn well deserve it. I'm glad that everything was okay.

Well done, my dear! Today, you actually practiced TWO aspects of Retail Therapy at the same time! Very creative of you!
Tutorial #1: Discounts & Coupons = Savings (vs. spending)
AND
Tutorial #4: The Art of the Reward (i.e., reward for mammo yesterday)
Good job! Proud of you, Cat!
