    Your First Day!
Tasha, I didn't realize today was your first day at the nursery! Please tell us what you did and if you enjoyed being there. I am looking forward to hearing the highlights in your own inimitable style.

    Moopy, you're up late...
Maybe time to get some rest, dear? Although - REALLY, really good to see you posting!!! I know you had a disappointing day.

    Kind regards, Susan

P.S.: Joe looks better bald than with the typical long "professor" hair. Just kidding! Doesn't matter what the heck I think. Only what you think. And, I'm sure you think he's the handsomest guy on the planet. (Well, maybe #2, after MJ - as he, himself, stated!)

    You're Right, Susan
How did you know? I really am winding down but wanted to respond some. I am going to bed now. Yeah, I think my hubby is the handsomest man ever. But like you, I prefer the MJ look to the Grizzly Adams one. Husbands, I guess. Our agreement is that he does not ask about how much I spend on my hair (temporarily on hiatus, but Mimi and I both are looking forward to getting back to laying some money down on hair care), and I say not much about his beard permutations.

Will look forward to hearing from our gardening/landscaping artist tomorrow.

    Oh, noooooo...
Poor Moopy. Didn't intend to open up this can o' worms. Give her a break, dude! She's going through enough!

Just kidding. I know you are her rock. :-)

Actually, I'm now thinkin' I'm the one who needs to go get some rest... (feelin' a bit goofy)

    Woohooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for remembering that it was my first day of gainful employment since the "Big C".. I didn't dare post because it seemed trivial next to what was (supposedly) transpiring in other quarters. BUT...Here goes ( I don't need to be asked twice!)

It it absolutely wonderful! The lady I work with/For is just so zany and fun, she assumes I know what I'm doing and asks me what I fancy doing when I get there in the morning... Then we have Tea (coffee) and I do what needs doing and she just leaves me to it. Yesterday (1st day) she handed me a load of fancy containers and said she wanted them doing up for Mothers Day, Gave me free range of the greenhouses and said..."Use anything you can find, let your creative juices flow!" What a dream come true! Today (Day 2) I potted on over 1000 various tomato plants that had been hit by a PH imbalance, and enjoyed every minute of it! They keep a fridge full of bottled water and insist I take regular breaks and sit and chat with them, AND...I can smoke (Don't Tut-Tut) Whilst I work out back. Anyway I am enjoying it immensely, not just selling plants and giving out advice, but growing them too....Just my cup of tea!

Hey have I bored you all rigid??????

    Not found anything turquoise yet..Mmmmmmm

Anyway I am delightfully happy and I once again thank you for asking (Yeah, I bet you bloody well wished you hadn't now LOLOL) Hugs Jxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Congratulations!
It sounds WONDERFUL! (Except of course the smoking part) :) (I'm a nurse, I have to say that.)

It is so great to be passionate about your work! Makes going to work so much easier. Keeps those creative juices flowing.

    I'm very happy for you!

    Banana
I don't think that anyone with that big banana could possibly be boring!

You appear to be very passionate about other things as well.

    Great job !!!
Tasha ... it sounds like you've found the perfect job ... and they've found the perfect employee. It's great to hear you so excited. I've been waiting to hear how your first day went ... and glad you finally let us in on the good news.

After your description of all the planting you did I was worn out. I bought 4 hanging plants today ... got home and put them out in the yard .. and I was exhausted :-) But ... then again ... you are much, much younger than this old granny.

Just be sure and not overdo things. Take those breaks for water ... and rest a bit while you are having tea ... :-)

It's great to hear you so happy.

    hugs.

    Not Trivial or Boring
I am so happy for you, Julia! You are a creative person, and I can just imagine you making all kinds of unique and pretty arrangements. The lady who employs you is clearly smart enough to recognize your abilities. I bet you will thrive just like the plants you care for.

Looking forward to hearing about more adventures in the greenhouse and maybe even picking up tips on keeping my poor plants from expiring.

Wow what a good job! It
Wow what a good job! It sounds like heaven on earth for you. If you have a good boss and enjoy the people you work with, nothing else matters. I mean, even a bad day isn't all that bad.

It is great and I am just in my element there. I ran my own greenouse/landscape&design business in england before I moved here to the Frozen North. I'm just having to learn about zones and differences here in gardening practices. What they call a weed here, we'd pay a fortune for in england. Marcia, you are right, I don't intend to have any more bad days (I've had enough) Anyway, thank you all for the support, this is what these boards are for, great Feel-Good Factor!!!!!!! Hugs Jxxxxx

Funny you should say that, I
Funny you should say that, I have a funny story to tell. We lived in Texas several years and wildflowers are prolific because of Lady Bird Johnson. So when we moved to Connecticut, we babied anything that produced a flower (There was one whole area). One of the neighbors came over at one point and said, "You know those are weeds." My husband told him in Texas they call them wildflowers. We came back to where the weeds grow and florish. They are beautiful too.

I heard it said that a weed
I heard it said that a weed is just a flower that grows where you don't want it.
