Olivia Newton John, a breast cancer survivor herself, Is a tireless advocate for breast cancer research and other health issues. She has been a product spokesperson for the Liv-Kit, a breast self-examination product. Newton-John's cancer diagnosis affected the type of music she recorded. In 1994, she released Gaia: One Woman's Journey, which chronicled her ordeal. Has anyone heard of or used this kit before? http://www.breasttalk.co.uk/reviews/liv_kit_review.aspx
Olivia and her newly married husband will be appearing at a free Zamu tasting from 1-3pm this saturday the 18th, in the San Francisco Bay area. Anybody live in that area?

The Curves I attend offered the Liv~Kit during their BC Awareness campaign in October...I bought a few to give as Christmas stocking stuffers. I don't know for sure if the recipients used them or not, but I did gift them! I think they are a great tool in self examination, and I appreciate ONJ's committment to finding a cure.

Sorry I wasn't able to be in the Bay Area on the 18th; I was closeby in Sacramento celebrating my sister's 50th birthday.

    Hugs,
    Claudia

    Olivia & Amazon John
It took me nearly 3 hours to drive to San Rafael... but it was worth it. I got Olivia's autograph on the CD cover of her latest album, Grace and Gratitude. She has a glow about her as she's often seen, hand in hand with John. A sign their truely in love! She carrys her 60 years vary well. I've been knowing John for 10 years. He's had a colorful past as a "Indiana Jones" existance, foraging his way through the Amazon Rainforest searching for lost cities of gold, ecking out a living bringing back blow guns, gems stones, monkey bones and other artifacks. He got cought up in a Bolivian revolution in the 70's and made it out by the skin of his teeth. Suffering from a relapse to a life threathening disease he incurred earlier and near collapse, he was nursed back to health by the Shipibos in the Peruvian rainforest, and since then, has made a commitment to helping rainforest communities secure title and deeds to their land, under threat from loggers and poachers. Heres a link to a TV interview with Olivia and John on a recient stop over tour in LA...
