I have been putting on my wafer wrong for 3 years, NO one around here, including the Home Health Nurse knew a thing. I met my first Ostomy nurse today. I have the wrong kind of wafer and cutting it the wrong size. Way to small. I felt like an idiot today. I have psoriasis real bad and I thought it was broke out from the wafer. I have an appointment in the morning with my Dr. to get something to clear it up.

Wow
What a bummer! You will be so much happier once that gets figured out. Having your wafer fit correctly will really help...but 3 yrs? There are some wonderful ostomy nurses out there, but if you can't find them you are really alone! I'm sorry you've had to go through this, now let's get it fixed so you can live the good life!

Bless your heart...
It is a total shame that this has been going on for three years and no one corrected it. When we are ill, we count on the medical people to know what they are doing. If they're not sure, they should ask questions and make sure the procedure is correct. We pay big bucks for medical care...we should always get our moneys worth! I wish there was an MD Anderson Cancer Center near you. These people go overboard to make sure things are going correctly. If they suspect something...you are tested and they find out what is wrong. I've never had them "Blow-off" anything. Questions everything! If they get "cocky" with you ...stand your ground. I truly will pray for you and wish you the best.0
