Hi Ismetals,
I see your question, sorry I can't give you info on that, however, you should check out the Kidney Cancer Association.org, they have a lot of people that have gone through just about everything, I have to admit I have never heard of this treatment. So try that web site, I hope this helps.

BCG Treatment
I was treated with BCG (Bacillus-Calmete-Gurin Treatment) for my bladder ca in 1997-8 (?). I was unable to complete the series of infusions because of blood clotting problems and serious pain while trying to pass thumb size blood clots coming out of my bladder. Initially it was more an inconvenience than anything else because of the use of 'live TB Virus.' It required alot of decontamination of anything my urine touched. I went through gallons of bleach to protect the draining from my toilet into the public sewer system. I didn't get sick to my stomach or lose hair like with chemo, but it was very painful. I know of others who have been treated and never had the same problems as I did. But it is important to know that it wasn't a bed of roses. As long as I have other options for treatment...no more BCG for me. CA0 -

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you had with your treatment. My neighbor has been in treatment for three weeks now with no side effects to this date. I've got my fingers crossesd that it works. Then the docs can move on to his other cancers. I'll keep his progress posted here.0 -

I am a survivor of several different types of cancer myself. Uterine, ovarian, bladder, rt ureter & kidney, colon, and 3 kinds of skin cancer. They were all primary site ca's and if I can help you with any questions I'll be happy to. I have had multiple kinds of treatment and am a 20 yr survivor. Give my best to your neighbor. CA0
