Each person is different depends on severity
Hi Liz, As always good to hear from you. :-) Tell us how you and the kids are doing. I miss hearing from you but understand with your mom and little ones life has to be very busy. (((HUGS)))
Desensitized Carbo for me was to start taking the highest dose of steroids the day before, then I would be admitted into the hospital the second day and get more steroids, aloxi, emend, and a couple other drugs. Then the carbo at a very slow drip. This would go for 24 hours and the next day I'd go home. I'd get sick but didn't have the swelling of my bronchials ~ never felt the elephant sit on my chest so to speak. It worked for me for 13-months, by holding the cancer stable, didn't shrink but didn't grow either.
I know some women that get extra drugs and still get the carbo in the infusion room. A very slow drip still, I think over 6-8 hours something like that.

I had the slow drip for eight months and it worked well for that time. Once a month Didnt have any problems but did have to have blood for iron one time. I believe my drip was for 6 and Half hours ( I was there 10 HOUrs with blood test and mixing of it) but Mine went down anywhere from 1500 to 3000 at a time. I started at 14000 went down to 4000 before count started climbing again but Dr said some women very successful with it. I, like Bonnie, did pretty good for a while. But as Bonnie said everyone is different * I have to let something off my chest. A family member said oh there is a cure they just dont want to give up the money HUH? I said if there was a known cure then the person would be a trillionaire and more people wouldnt be scared to go to DR and they would make more money. There may be a cure we just havent discovered it and there are so many cancers, besides chemo does cure some when the CA doesnt come back. Sorry had to fume a minute. Didnt mean to add to a different subject.
Prayers and Hugs
