Great News!
Peggy, I am glad your husband is home and doing well. Wow... snow again?! Quiet is a good thing for me, I have been trying to enjoy this week before my next treatment on Monday. I am sort of dreading it after the last treatment. I so hope that I can escape the nausea and vomiting this time. Only 3 more to go...
Take care.
Hugs,

Welcome news
Just wanted to chime in with how glad I am you and your husband are home. Happy Spring Ladies- It is so good to come out of hibernation. I am making plans for for my business- I make pesto with my farmer business partner- This year I feel stronger and the planning (and life) is so much easier without going through cancer treatment. I was so lucky last Winter to have no work load, because my business is so seasonal- I admire those of you going through this and trying to maintain jobs and care for young children.0 -
thank you
Thank you for your concerns and support. We are still home. G is very sore but mending I hope. Bandages came off today!! We have to go back to the surgeon in a week. Then the week after back to Mayo and then the week after to his rheumatologist. So many things still to fix! It would sure be nice if we could do some of these Dr appointments without a 3 to 6 hour drive. I just found out that my oncologist is moving about 70 miles closer to me. Some good news at least. I hope to get my totes of Easter Decor out today and have something cheery and different for my daughter and grandkids to enjoy. The Lenten season seems so dreary, but the end is worth it. I have in many years past taken out my crystal and my good china filled them with special and traditional recipes that are full of color for spring then have a very formal family Easter Dinner. It is fun to see all of the collected and antique dishes linens etc put to use for that special Sunday. ... Not sure if I have the ambition to do it this year but I want to try. It has been so hectic with G and Jodana both down at the same time!! What are some of you gals doing for Easter?? Hugs to all. CRFB!!0 -

Glad to hear that Garth got through the surgery and is at home. Sounds like he still has lots of appointments ahead of him. Hope Jo is doing better, too, and not having so much pain. Glad to hear you won't have to travel so far to see your onocologist. We will be back in Illinois for Easter. I will have my first week of radiation therapy the week before Easter, so I don't know what my plans will be. Don't know how I will feel after the first week. I am hoping I will feel fine. This will be an all new experience for me. HUGS to you and your special family.0 -

You are such a great friend to have here.... and I would bet a lot that your nursing abilities are top notch too. Yes, we are all doing a LOT better. G has been able to sleep at least 2-3 hours a night again. Jo is not on her crutches anymore. She is still in the brace and is being very cautious. I hope you have a good Easter in Illinois and you get nice weather getting there. We are still getting temps in the 20's at night and SNOW. Mega flooding all around us. I have Canadian Geese swimming in my garden and the rest of the water is in my basement. Your radiation is coming up fast. I hope it goes fast/easy for you. I had very few problems with radiation. I had salmonella poisoning form peanut butter so that my Dr thought I had reacted to the radiation. When the tainted peanut butter codes came on TV we had many jars of it. When that was out of my system I was fine. I was never tired. I did have trouble breathing low in my throat at night. Jodana would lay by me at night and tell me to breathe. I later found that I was not drinking enough water after each treatment. I started to drink a whole bottle of water with out stopping the second they would let me move after radiation. It helped my throat from getting so dry later. I had minor skin burns. A pharmacist friend ordered some salve from an internet site. The salve was remarkable. I used it once and healed immediatly. I had a friend going through brain cancer and his ears had radiation burns keeping him uncomfortable day and night. I gave the salve to him. It stopped his pain completely. He used it until he passed away. If you get radiation burns please tell me and I will get the name of it for you. I will keep you in my prayes and thoughts. Have a safe journey back...... don't go faster than your guardian angels can fly. Hugs back to you. CRFB!!!0 -

Hope things continue to improve at your house. Sorry to hear about all of your water. I hope the water does not ruin your gardens, or the geese ruin them either. I remember reading your earlier post of the importance of drinking water with the radiation treatments. Thanks for the reminder again. I try to drink the 8 glasses of water everyday, but I will be sure to take it with me to the treatments. I am hoping my radiation treatments will go as well as my chemo treatments did. Thank you for all of your support.0 -
