Anyone have an Incisional Hernia?

Got One
Yep, I have one also. We will be checking up on in at my CT scan in a few weeks. I got mine after the ovarian staging surgery. All was well until I got the flu. Then bammo, I got a hernia. My doctor said it was part of the bowel peeking through next to my belly button. And if it got to where it was very tender and hurting in that area, I was to go to the ER and they would schedule surgery for me. There are some ladies here who have had them "heal" and not bother them. I was a little disappointed when I got mine, because I immediately thought of another surgery. But so far, mine is staying where it should. Please let us know how things go for you. Hugs, Cindy0 -
I have a small one right next to my belly button.
I have a small hernia that showed up on my CT-scan next to my belly button from the de-bulking & staging surgery. It was tender for awhile, but it no longer bothers me and I think it went away by itself.0 -

Hi Tricia,
Hopefully your hernia will be just that, and the cancer is staying away. All the best for your operation and recovery. Hopefully a walk in the park for you this time.
Please let us know how you get on. I havent had this particular problem myself, but was wondering is the hernia from where your IP chemo port was?
Be thinking of you, all the best...luv Carolyn x0 -
I received the results from my Dr. yesterday regarding the ct scan I took last week. The great news... no evidence of cancer. Also my blood work (ca125) came back at 8!!!softD said:incisional hernia

Unfortunatley he found another hernia...and it is in a different area and therefore cannot be operated on the same day.... which means 2 surgeries.
I am not thrilled about that (as you can imagine) but things could definetly be alot worse! Just wanted to keep you updated..Hope everyone is Well.

Who is doing your surgery? A regular surgeon or your onc surgeon? Another doc may think that both can fixed. Just curious.
Congratulations on the great results ... that is the best news this board has had in awhile.
I thought I posted a Happy St Patty's Day post but not sure where it went ~ so I'll do it here.... Happy St Patricks Day to all.
May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”0 -

That is really great no cancer evidence. Surgery not so fun but the CA125 is great. Blessings for you!!!

My surgery is being done by a surgeon who specializes in cancer patients - but he is not my oncologist (But she highly recommended him) She said that she could do the surgery - but since the hernia is so large and they need to put a mesh patch on it.. she prefers that a specialist in hernia repair do it! I don't know why he is apprehensive about fixing both hernias at once. He said he would review my cat scan again and make a decisionl
I am going for medical clearance on saturday and my surgery will be next wed.
By the way... thanks for writing and for your well wishes!0 -

Great news, Tricia,
I believe my CA125 was 7.1 last time. And NED is also wonderful. I am doing a praise dance now!
Love,

I just found out last Thursday that I also have a hernia at the site where I had a serious infection in my hysterectomy incision. They found this while doing a consult for gall bladder surgery. Apparently all of my issues the past 6 months or so - stomach pain, back cramps, nausea and sometimes accompanying diarrhea is all do to my gall bladder. Have surgery April 9th. Dread being opened again. The surgeon was recommended by my oncologist. Good luck!!
