Nervous about scans tomorrow.
I haven't been on much lately - FOLFORI has me pretty sick. I'm getting my PET and CT scans tomorrow to see if the mets are shrinking. I'm so nervous and nauseous - I can't tell if it's the chemo or the nerves.
I'd appreciate any positive vibes you can spare!
Stay strong,
Elizabeth

So Sorry....
....to hear how sick you been! are they not giving you good anti-nausea meds? I know the first treatment I had, I was sicker then a dog, I couldn't even eat or drink anything for almost 4 days, so they switched my anti-meds the 2nd time I went, and it was much better! they gave me Emend and Dexamethasone which worked really well.
You'll be in my prayers tonight, as I hope they did shrink! good luck on the scans, think positive, and let us know how they went, I'm sending you positive vibes your way with alot of hugs!
Hugggggs!

Hi Liz,
I am thinking of and praying for you right now, as I just read your post and it's already March 10- so you're probably in the midst of your tests as I write this. I hear ya with the anxiety- I've got mine coming up in another 2-3 weeks (still waiting on the actual date). All the "what will it show or not show" that's riding on the scan outcomes is huge as to what comes next- been there, done that several times. It's probably going to always be like that as we continually get scans to check on us. Let us know what your results are and how you did. You've got a lot of people on this board pulling for you- cling to the Lord and He will carry you through, no matter what!
Blessings,

Hey Elizabeth... I've been wondering where you were. I'm so sorry to hear you haven't been around here because you just haven't been feeling well I'm hoping when you get your tests done today you are telling them that you are having a rough time of it so they can try different meds or change something so that your system can handle it easier.
By the time you read these messages, you will be home and the tests will be over. I'm not sure if you are getting the results today or if you now have to wait for them. Either way... I'm sending good, positive thoughts your way and I'm sure the results will be waaaaaay better than your imagination is going wild with right now.
Hang in there, friend!

Thank you to all of you! I just got my scan results and after 3 FOLFIRI+Avastin treatments my mets are stable - they haven't grown, no new mets. Not the best news, but at this point, I'll take stable!
My doctor is putting me on Amend and Decadron for the the nausea. I just wish the stomach/intestinal cramping would go away.
Thanks again for all your support. I say a prayer for all of you every night.
Stay strong,

Elizabeth stable is still a good outcome since they haven't grown and like you said, there are no new ones.
Hope the new medicine helps your tummy.
Prayers are daily for everyone here as well, and thank you for yours.

I have been at stable forever. Stable is a good place to be considering they could be growing.
I had a lot of trouble with stomach cramping with CPT11. Horrific stuff. It did the trick to make/keep me stable though.
Positive thoughts to you Liz

yea, the CPT-11 sucks big time. What seemed to work the best for me was hyocyamine to stop the intestinal cramping, and Sandostatin shots once a month (this also seemed to help with stabilizing my mood as well). Maybe it will work for you as well. Stable is GREAT!
