Tomorrow Surgery at Vanderbilt
To make a long story short...we leave today again for Nashville where Frank will have lung resection done in the morning. If the cancer is just in the two places they will remove them with the upper portion of his right lung and after he fully recovers we will return for liver resection. If they find more cancer in the lung than they saw on PET scan...will sew him back up with no futher surgeries available. I will not have access to a computer while in Nashville so I will not be able to update but my daugther in law, Tricia, will be updating Frank's caringbridge site.......www.caringbridge.org/visit/frankproctor
I want to take this time to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and words of encouragement since I came to this site in December. Your stories have given me hope, appreciation, courage to keep on keeping on with the fight against the "Beast"
I do not know what the outcome will be tomorrow but I know that it is in GOD's hands and HIS
will be done. Thanks again...will update whenever I get him home or get access to a computer.
May GOD bless each of you
Hugs,
Anna

Sending positive thoughts!!krystiesq said:prayers here too
Anna-
I'm praying for your family.

Let me add my positive thoughts for a wonderful outcome to the surgery! Frank will need to allow himself lots of healing and pampering time for recovery from the surgeries, but that is very doable. So bring on the surgeries!!

Hi Anna,
I, too, will be praying for Frank, you, and the doctors dealing with him. I will be interested in hearing the outcome of your visit, whether he has the lung resection, etc. I have lung mets right now that are "too small" to do anything about, but have been stubborn to the chemo. I get scanned again end of March after continuing on w/ chemo- we'll see then. I'm wondering if you were given options for the lungs other than just a lung resection, like RFA, cyberknife, etc. to just deal with the nodule(s).
Do take care,

We are in Nashville at the American Cancer Society Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge. All your messages are so uplifting. We are so very blessed to be given so many prayers and support.
Vicko glad to hear from you and to know that you are okay after your surgery. Praise GOD!
Lisa you asked about was he given any options other than resection and the answer is NO. That was the only option because the liver surgeon would not do any liver resection until the lung was completely taken care of. My sons are here with us and the oldest brought his lab top computer so if they have internet access ...I will be able to post after surgery tomorrow.
Thanks again for all your prayers...I can feel the hugs, love, comfort, support and encouragement...I will continue to pray for each of you and lift up to name to GOD for complete recovery and NED.
Love
