Now I'm a bit frantic. I am 46 and pre-menopause at dx. I had AC chemo and have been on tamoxifan for 4 months. I just noticed this morning some vaginal bleeding and am distressed. I placed a call to my onc and waiting for a call back. Has anyone experienced this and can help me with experience/knowledge. Thank you so much, Kit

    Me, too
    Hi Kit,
I had the exact same experience last fall and was also frantic. My onc told me to talk to my ob/gyn. She had an opening the next day! She took 3 endometrial biopsies - rather like the worst menstrual cramps I had ever had. All biopsies came back negative! I also had a vaginal ultrasound which showed no reason for alarm. If the endometrial lining thickens, it is more likely to be cancerous. Mine was quite thin. I still don't know what caused the bleeding. It happened once again a month later. My 0b/gyn then referred me to a gyn onc just to be sure. He looked at all my tests and said that it was not cancer -whew! It hasn't happened since then.
I had TAC chemo and have been on tamoxifen since June. I was told that although we should always report bleeding while on tamoxifen, it generally is harmless.
    Good luck,
    Libby

    what happened to me
I had spotting too. I was also pre-menopause at time of diagnosis. So the onc did a blood test to make sure if I was in menopause or not. I was in menopause so he had me go see a OB/GYN. She did a pelvic and a biopsy. They came back negative but she didn't trust that because she said a biopsy is hit or miss. So she did a hysteroscopy (just putting a scope in to see what is going on) and then did a D&C. It wasn't cancer but polyps. I was on Tamoxifen at the time and the onc decided to switch me to Aromasin just in case it was part of the problem.

P.S. I think they did do an ultrasound first at the OB/GYN. It's been a long time and I don't remember it clearly. Also the hysteroscopy and D&C was done at the hospital as out patient.

They were not just concerned because I was on Tamoxifen but my sister had uterine cancer the year before.
