and if i'm not mistaken, if they didn't notify you of your eligibility, you become eligible beyond the normal time frame (although you still only have the 18 or 36 month eligibility) and they probably make a note about the employer (there's a place on the eligibility form for noting that you weren't notified about your eligibility for COBRA I think).

Keep filing apeals with social security. They usually always deny the first time. Keep persisting and be prepared for this system is very slow. Also get a lawyer. Maybe they can go after this company.
